  1. Okay yeah, I will get a new case aswell. I wonder if it would be wise to wait for the "next round" of GPUs and upgrade my card then?
  2. Completely forgot to add the budget, it was late at night. Somewhere around 1000-1500€ I would say. Someone replied saying I should ditch my current case so I'll invest in one of those aswell.
  3. I'm looking to upgrade everything but the GPU, sorry if my post was unclear! I have 12GB of DDR3 so ram also needs an upgrade. Budget is sonewhere around 1000-1500 euros. I haven't thought about the budget too much.
  4. Hello. I have a pre-built PC my mom bought for me many years ago. It's an Acer Predator G3-605(?) and It's been great. When I got it, it had a GTX 760, i7-4790 and some Acer motherboard and PSU. I've later upgraded the gpu to a GTX 1060 but everything else has remained the same. Now that I've gotten a part time job before continuing my studies I've started to look into upgrading. I plan to use it for mainly gaming, mainly CS:GO but also some other more graphically intense games. Parts I'm looking to refurbish are the motherboard, CPU, PSU and maybe RAM. The 1060 I can upgrade by myself and the case I would like to keep for the memories. I don't know what else to write. If anyone has ideas on what parts would be suitable for my use then please help me! Thank you!
  5. While extracting with 7Zip I got a "content error" (don't know what it is in English) and WinRAR said there was a checksum error.
  6. Hello! Last week I installed Windows 10 from my old HDD to a new SSD. For the most part I don't have issues, but when I went to download mods for Euro Truck Simulator 2, I ran into a problem. I downloaded the the mods which are .7z files and then when extracting them with 7Zip I get this data error, every single time. I have tried older versions of 7Zip and I've tried WinRAR also but to no avail. This morning I had a great idea. Why don't I use some other computer, in this case my school laptop with Windows 7, to extract the mods to one of my external hard drives, and then move them over to my desktop. Extracting went well with no errors on the laptop but when I connected my external drive to my desktop, it got "bricked". I cannot open the drive as I get a message saying "Invalid parameter". I had movies and series which I had downloaded on the drive that are now gone. Can anyone help? It would mean a lot. Thank you.
  7. Thank you. I shouldn't have a Windows installation on my HDD anymore though.
  8. I'm piggybacking my own post, but when I boot my PC I first see the Acer screen but the next screen I have never seen before. The big text means "Choose the OS" and then the two choices are "Windows 10 in location/drive 8" and "Windows 10 in location/drive 4"
  9. Thank you everyone for assisting me with my SSD! I did a clean install after all so there weren't any major problems.
  10. It was probably in the realms of 550-600Gb. But I went out and did a fresh install on the SSD. It was my first time reinstalling Windows so I did some beginner mistakes.
  11. One more question atleast. Can I reinstall Windows without a thumb drive or is it necessary?
  12. Can I just use my old Windows key to do that? I don't know if I have a big enough thumb drive for it. Also, what do the "system folders" include?
  13. Hello! My PC has a 2Tb HDD in it and now I'm trying to figure out what the best way to transfer an OS to an SSD is. The SSD is 250Gb so I have to delete alot of programs? The main thing is to atleast move the OS to the SSD. I came here searching for help regarding this issue of mine, so if anyone is willing to assist me doing this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
