  1. A friend of mine has a pc that he shares with his family and everyone has his or her own account. Recently on 3 of 4 accounts lost there icons on the desktop and in windows explorer while the last account has everything showing properly. the pc has the following specs: cpu: i5-7400 motherboard: Gigabyte ATX MB - Intel S1151 ram: Team Group Elite DIMM DDR4 2133 CL15 - 16GB gpu: MSI VGA - Nvidia GeForce - GTX1050Ti powersupply: RIOTORO Onyx 750 Power Supply 750watt storage: Crucial MX500 1TB SSD operating system: windows 10 64x (not sure what version) We tried turning it off and on again, it didn't work. We checkt at the desktop right mouse button, view, show desktop icons. that wasn't it either. note* unchecking it makes the text also disappear and checking it again brings back the text and not the icons. we checkt Tablet mode and that wasn't the problem as well. I don't think that it are corrupt file paths due to 1 of 4 having no issues at all and 3 of 4 having this issue. Thank you in advance cause i really don't know what it could be.
  2. I have tried this and at most I can get 4.4ghz. Think that it wont go any higer than that.
  3. I will be able to check this in the weekend due to time constrains, but I will let you know when I adjusted my bios.
  4. I heard that dram speed doesnt have a big impact on performance or atleast not as much in comparison to first and second gen ryzen. what are your settings for your OC in bios?
  5. no I only made sure that my memory is running at the xmp profile of 3000mhz at which it is rated.
  6. I have a Ryzen 3700x on a MSI Gaming Edge wi-fi with 16GB of ddr4 3000 mhz memory and a Cooler master masterliquid ml240L. When using ryzen master I can get a OC of 4.4 ghz on all cores with 1.3 volt and a max temp of 65C under load. The thing is when i want to go to 4.5ghz the pc crashes and i get different windows blue screen messages, but i do not hit any of the limits on PPT, TDC and EDC. In Ryzen master the max i can get is 4.475 ghz on all cores with EDC on 92%. I am not very experienced in overclocking, but could this be a limit in ryzen master for this specific chip? And if not than what could that be? Note: with the 4.4 ghz I can play all my games but I cannot run a cinebench r20 test. the r20 software will crash after around 5 seconds of starting the test. question 1: is ryzen master limited to advertist boost clock? question 2: can I get higher boost clock on the chip through bios? (not very comfortable changing things in bios yet) question 3: is it common that cinebench crashes on initialization? edit: the questions
  7. Oke, I did not know that Skyrim was a CPU intensive game, I expect to upgrade CPU somwhere this summer, after the launch of the AMD 3000 series. I will post again after I upgraded my system to let you know if it has improved.
  8. I have a RTX 2080 and it is a MSI Gaming X Trio, when i want to play skyrim on 4k i get a max of 40 or 50 fps depending on my location (interior or exterior). I also have a spare 1060 6GB around and that has 10 fps lower. What are you guys thinking about this crazy low fps for a 2080?
  9. Is there a forum post on how to do this?? And what are the gains in fps in games or doesnt it have to do a lot with games? It is just a little test I am thinking about doing but concidering it would stress the cpu more, I might have to wait with that. My brother his pc is running an old FX 6300 cpu.
  10. I am upgrading my gpu from a 1060 6gb to a 2080. But now I got a 1060 that I am not using so I figured that I could give it to my brother so he can try to use it with his 1060 6gb. But would it work with 2 gpu's on a motherboard that doesnt support sli ( I know that the 1060 doesnt support sli from nvidia). For example plug in 1 monitor on which he plays games and a second monitor on the second gpu for google chrome or discord. In my theory this should work like a laptop does with intergraded and a dedicated grapichs card, but is it that easy? If it doesnt work this way is there a way to make it work?
  11. I am not really happy with asus. I had an Asus Laptop until it blew up 2 months back. But it gave me trouble 1 year after i bought it. 2 hdds and my screen within 2 years. but that is something apart from all this. thank you for the help and suggestion of the motherboard.
  12. Which msi board would you recommend for overclocking on ryzen????
  13. At this moment I got my eye on an msi b450 tomahawk. I like some of the features that this motherboard has. the Game boost option to highlight one.
  14. Would the current am4 motherboards be supporting the Ryzen 3000 series cpu's?
  15. But I am not yet completely settled on which though, would you think that it is worth to wait for the 3000 series to launch? Apart from my cpu, i am thinking of upgrading my gpu aswell. I got a 1060 6gb card and i am playing on 1080p 60 hrtz even though my monitor can handle 4k 60 hrtz. For this i am thinking about getting a 2080 aswell.
  16. i have driver version 419.35
  17. I am going to do a upgrade later this year, around August or September. I am looking into a Ryzen 2600x, 2700x or the new ryzen 7 X proccesor that they are going to launch.
  18. i have a total of 3 locations for geforce experience to find my games.
  19. sorry, i tried to reset bios by removing cmos
  20. it is task manager which is eating up most of the cpu, and sometimes nvidia container jumps in
  21. I have tried that before but it wouldnt change, now i am thinking about overclocking it but dont know if that is a good thing to do.
  22. I recently went from a hdd with 2 tb of storage to a ssd with 240 gb of storage for my os, but after this change my processor which is an amd fx 6300 (not overclocked) remains at 3.7 ghz even when I am doing nothing. Before this my processor would resume at an idle of around 3.5 ghz. What could be the issue here???
