  1. I've had a different thought: get a new SSD boot drive and swap out my current Intel 520 (still MLC NAND back then) to be used as an external backup source. Would Crucial MX500 be preferable in that case considering that no other SSD comes with power loss protection?
  2. In other words, there is no point in overpaying for Samsung, correct? What about the charge hold in SSDs in general? I believe JEDEC rates them to be safe up to a year. Any advice on external enclosures if I go for Crucial?
  3. In a nutshell, I'm choosing between Samsung's T5 and 860 Evo for archival storage, i.e. not a boot or an often used drive. Is the latter setup preferable in terms of reliability over a long term? If it is, are there better options (e.g. Crucial MX500)? Advice on enclosures would be appreciated too. P.S. I discounted HDDs for fear of loosing data due to drops and bumps. My total storage needs are quite low too (under 500GB).
