  1. would other am3+ compatible amd cpu be better in this case? i know ryzen uses am4 but if i get into am4/ryzen my budget will have to rise significantly. i guess my question would be is a $250 fx pc be good for it's price? keep in mind i don't play games
  2. Hi I'm new to building pc and was just wondering if building a computer with a am3+ motherboard in 2019 is ok. I'm thinking of using an fx cpu (either the 6300, 8350, or the 4300) with it and use about 16gb of ram and add a reliable cheap gpu like rx 570 . I don't intend to use it for gaming since I don't even play games at all. What I do intend to use it is just for browsing the internet, watching netflix/YouTube, use Microsoft office apps like word and paint, etc. and maybe the most I would do is Solidworks and Matlab. Now you would think that I should just buy a prebuilt computer but I find building a computer fascinating and would love to try it. Plus I've planned this already and the cheapest I could do with everything I've mentioned is about $300 in total. i've got a case and storage already- $0 i've bought an am3+ motherboard- $5 i could get an fx-8350 for about -$50 cheap rx 570 - $120-$150 everything else (ram, power supply)- ? if one day i want to upgrade i would only need to upgrade cpu and motherboard and ram right? i'm guessing power supply and storage and cases can be reused?
