  1. I would suggest the Alienware M15. I bought one after watching reviews and testing out laptops. It runs hot as balls in a desert summer but it’s fast as hell and even keeps up with the 300hz refresh in many games. I also saw the Lenovo legion in person which has a cool overclocking button on the laptop. While I still found the Alienware to be snappier and better built, the Lenovo was half the price.
  2. My friend wanted me to build him a really cheap PC back in the day. So we got a Core 2 Duo and some medium range GPU, but literally gimped on everything else from HD to PSU to the case(OMG THE CASE). The case would have been more sturdy if it had used aluminum cans. It looked cool but i probably had 10 scrapes on my arm after finishing. What's incredible though, the machine is in my parents' garage(he moved and left it with me). It's been neglected to hell, Pepsi spilled all over and beaten and scratched... STILL WORKS!
  3. Well there would be no budget for the cooling components, but you would get a better score based on the age of the hardware. Maybe with some restrictions though(ie: Extreme Processors wouldn't be allowed)
  4. I always love pushing old hardware to its limits, and I had an idea for scrapyard wars or a similar video. Essentially, the goal would be to be able to push older hardware with Overclocking/Cooling and get it to perform as close to newer hardware as possible. The older the hardware and the lower the performance gap the better the score(Maybe a different score for each). You could have a budget involved but I also think it would be fun to have almost no budget and see how crazy the cooling would be to really push the hardware.
  5. so let me clarify: Linus recently reviewed multiple manufacturers on their PC buying process. When he got the Alienware, it showed High memory usage even though Task Manager didn't show any programs using that much memory. My 8GB laptop says it only has 4GB available, even if I disable and turn off everything. What's even odder is that I don't have memory issues when I game, so It seems like I am getting the full 8GB even though it says there's only 4.
  6. No its there even if you re-format, if you watch the Linus review videos you'll see what I'm talking about with the Alienware.
  7. After watching the review videos of the Alienware and seeing the 4 gigs memory usage while idle, I wanted to ask if anyone figured out why that is? I have a Dell Gaming laptop with the same issue. I only have 8 gigs and it doesn't seem to cause any problems while gaming etc, but I was curious if anyone figured out what was going on?
