  1. Hey, Hopefully, I can explain this in an understandable way without making it overly complicating. I have a Turtle Beach Elite Atlas headset that can be used on the Xbox One and on the PC. To connect it to the Xbox it has a single jack that plugs into the Xbox Chat Adaptor. To connect it to the PC I plug that single jack into another cable that has separate headphone and mic jacks. What I'm trying to do is have the headphones plugged into the PC and the mic into the controller. If I plug the headphone jack into the PC I can hear the Xbox game sound and party chat through the headset when setting the Elgato to output in OBS. But if I plug the mic jack into the controller the Xbox doesn't recognise a mic is connected. The mic works fine if I plug the mic jack into the PC. Can anyone throw some light on why the mic split part of the PC cable can't be recognised by the Xbox. It is a mic line so the direction shouldn't be an issue. I've looked online to try and understand it and can't find any reason why it doesn't work. If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful.
  2. Hey, Thank you for the replies Building it myself was an option I looked into. My main reasons for purchasing it for a company that will assemble it for me are getting a working and tested system out of the box without having to worry about a dead component and the free return to base warranty they offer for three years afterwards. For the additional £45 on top of what I can buy the components for at their cheapest prices on PC Parts Picker, I think that's a good deal. I plan to up the cooler to a H150i, that's what the overwhelming majority of System Showcases on PC Part Picker seem to use with the 9900K and will likely look at the motherboards that are most used in the same way.
  3. Hey, I posted this question along with some others in the Build section of this forum yesterday, but have yet to get a definitive answer. Hopefully posting this specific questio heren is okay. I plan on purchasing a custom PC build within the next couple of days and it has been suggested that the parts I've chosen could be problematic. Specifically using these 3 components: CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i PRO 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard It's been suggested that the Asus motherboard has inferior VRM's to be paired with a 9900K and the cooler I have chosen is too small for the processor too. Is anyone able to confirm or dismiss that these are valid concerns? Thank you for any input, I am very grateful. Andy
  4. Hey, This is my first post here, hopefully I'm posting in the correct place and in the right format. To cut a very long story, I've been a console gamer for the last few years and want to get back into gaming on PC. I'm aware this PC build is probably complete overkill for what I'm likely to be using it for 99% of the time, but there's a few other things I'd like to mess about with and having this setup might be beneficial. I also plan to buy it built, from I think a reputable retailer in the UK, because firstly I'm concerned about getting a defective component and troubleshooting will be hard and also it is an additional £45 from buying the components myself which I think is worthwhile. Below is the parts list and I'd really appreciate some opinions on my questions below. Parts list: CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i PRO 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: EVGA - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB XC GAMING Video Card Case: Corsair - Crystal 460X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair - RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply 1) Is there anything about the components I've chosen that rings alarm bells? They may not be the best value, but are any know to have issues? 2) Are the motherboard VRM's okay for this processor? Someone has suggested they're not, which if true causes me serious concerns as the retailer claims a 'Free 4.9ghz extreme overclock' is available if desired. If the VRM's on this board are weak for this processor at factory speeds then they will surely fail with an overclock. 3) Should I opt for an additional 'fan kit'. It looks like the case has 3 front fans included. I'm not sure if the additional 'fan kit' upgrades those 3 fans or adds 3 more. 4) Is the water cooling solution a good option or would an air solution be better. Another suggestion I've had is that the cooler I've selected is too small. I've read they should be 'checked' every 6-12 months too and coolant changed every 5 years. Is this simple? 5) I want to have a 1440p 144/165hz main monitor for gaming and general use and also have 2 1080 monitors too. One monitor for YouTube/movies while working and the other for internet browsing/discord/Skype. I can do that from the video card can't I or would all 3 monitors need to be 1440p? This has turned into a much longer post than I had intended it to be. If you've read it and have an opinion to give, I am VERY VERY grateful!
