  1. To conclude this topic for now the "fix": After googling the error code in the log, the best I could come up with was to go into Device Manager and disable Microsoft Wi-fi Direct Virtual Adapter and NDIS Virtual Network Adapter Enumerator. After disabling both of those the laptop runs like a champ. What they have to do with the this whole F'd up scenario i have no clue. but i can close the lid now and run it wide open with no issues.
  2. I understand what all of you are saying, completely and that was my first thought. So for trial and error I had the screen all the way open and put a box over the entire keyboard/vent area so nothing would "vent". As expected it just throttled down as normal, it is a laptop, and just kept chugging right along. I've gotten the variables down to the screen being in it's "activated" position. The difference of like an 1/8th of an inch. If it's registering as screen closed it'll shut down 2min into a cinebench run with nothing else running. If it's registered as screen open, just a smig higher, nothing. I can run cinebench or prime95 as long as I wanna burn the electricity with furmark hitting the gpu just to add to it, and it just trucks right along. Attached pics with the difference of screen height. Not anywhere near close enough to make a relevant difference in cooling. Usually I'm good at trouble shooting, and googling, whatever issue that pops up here and there if needed. This issue however, has me stumped as to why the difference in screen on or off is making the difference. Open it throttles and runs all day long, 1/8th inch lower and nope, gonna take a nap. Top pic is on and bottom is off. Edit: decided to dig around in the even viewer and the correlating error's description is: Miniport Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #2, {02d2eecb-70ef-41a7-9ae9-9dd1b86a5de9}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has failed a power transition to operational power. So back to google to see what i can unearth
  3. Have a Asus Tuf Dash F15, i7-11370H 3050ti mobile, and Ive found with the screen closed and when gaming, once it starts getting loaded it will just randomly suddenly just shut down. When I run cinebench almost on a timer at 7:58 it'll just shut down, not timer on prime 95 but about 2 minutes in it'll shut down the same way. And yes the power settings is set to ignore the lid closing. However if the screen it up in the on position, doesn't have to displaying anything and I've check it both ways, just up that far, it'll game or run either benchmark till the cows come home, and I don't have cows. Both fans are clean and purring right along. I've removed the stock thermal paste and replaced it twice with noctuas offerings and any time the lids up it pures right along, if it's down, like clockwork it'll shut down right about 2 mins into a benchmark or in the middle of a game session when it's getting loaded up. The vents on top aren't moving any air when it's up so it's very "odd" to say the least. I've covered them up and didn't make a change in temps and it didn't shut down. Doesn't matter if it's on a laptop cooling pad, not exactly the most effective I know, right side up, upside down or one it's side if that lids down it's shutting off on ya if your doing more than word or YouTube. And just noticed this as I'm typing, if I have the built in displaying anything, extended or duplicate it runs about a 5-7deg cooler average than if it's set to blank over the same time frame with no max temps above 94, most are barely above 90/91. Turn it back to only external and the temps creep up with max on 2 cores hitting 97 and 1 at 95 and one at 94. So anything thoughts or ideas before I find a lid switch and remove it lol. And yes, already on the latest driver's and system pertinent software I can find for all the manufacturers involved.
  4. Just saw this cool diy camera arm on Alexandre Chappel's channel. Thought someone on here, or even LMG, may have a use for it and might not see it in their youtube feed.
