  1. Bumping this since I just set up my new desk so I'm ready for a monitor and speakers any time. In addition, I'm possibly looking at a promotion so if it goes through my needs would be as follows: Monitor Preferences: Price: $1200 CDN (or Lower) Size: 27" - 43" (Larger is Better) Resolution: 1440p (or Higher) Aspect Ratio: 16:9 - 21:9 Response Rate: 5ms (or Lower) Refresh Rate: 100hz - 240hz (Higher is Better) Panel: IPS Prefered, Good VA Okay Speaker Preferences: Price: $300 CDN (or Lower) Style: Bookshelf / Computer 2.1 Subwoofer: If Possible Signature: Neutral if Possible Should I wait for the AW3418DW to go on a good sale again or get something now? Or maybe even wait for some of the models announced at CES like the LG 950F?
  2. Is there any other feedback regarding monitors? I'll likely be buying mine in March so any feedback is appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the recommendation - I've been looking at the 2.1 version of these as my cheap option but like the look of sleek bookshelf speakers more. Good to know this series is vouched for though. Have you heard anything about the G560 2.1 set? Are they comparable?
  4. Any other answers or advice? Is the BenQ E3501R any good, or should I just wait for that Alienware deal to show up again? How about speakers, too?
  5. Damn, I could yesterday, but now ebates is back to 2% from 12%...
  6. Should I jump on the Alienware AW3418DW 3440x1440 120hz 34" IPS Ultrawide if I can get it for $986 plus tax?
  7. Thing is, both are above my price point, honestly - even if they're withing spitting distance and super tempting. Are there any notably good values under $1000?
  8. Here in Canada it's $1124 +tax. For that price I can get an AW3418DW direct from Dell?
  9. Can you provide the exact model number for your monitor, since they have more than one in that size? Also, have you had any issues with it? I know AOC is a bit less reputable than Asus and others. As far as speakers, im trying to have a more understated look, so I don't think I want the green trim. Would the Matte Black Kanto YU4's be a good alternative? That's true, but depending on the size of the drivers and if there's a subwoofer or not, the sound can be very different. That monitor caps out at 60hz refresh rate and the speakers are far too glossy. But thank you for your recommendations.
  10. Hello everyone, I've recently moved and where I used to have all of my devices connected to the same TV (Switch, PS4, PS3, PC, etc), I now have my desk seperate from where my TV is located. This means I need to buy a new monitor and pair of speakers. Monitor Preferences: Price: $1000 CDN (or Lower) Size: 27" - 43" (Larger is Better) Resolution: 1440p (or Higher) Aspect Ratio: Ultrawide or 16:9 Response Rate: 5ms (or Lower) Refresh Rate: 100hz - 240hz (Higher is Better) Panel: IPS Prefered, VA Okay Speaker Preferences: Price: $250 CDN (or Lower) Style: Bookshelf / Computer 2.1 Subwoofer: If Possible Signature: Neutral if Possible I currently have a GTX 970 but want to future proof my setup for future upgrades. Altogether, I don't want to spend more than $1500 Canadian after tax. Any suggestions are appreciated. I've done a bit of research myself but got overwhelmed pretty quick...
