Ok so the other day I finished rebuilding my pc and upon starting it up I got an error that my hard drive wasn't working right (this was on the American Megatrends Screen) I checked it in the BIOS and it seemed that there was something wrong with the spin retry count (i think it was in the '60s but can't fully remember, could have been in the '90s) so I posted about it on Reddit and I was told to back up immediately and get a new drive, so I did so
then two days ago my family came over and a few of them wanted to see the new pc so I said to myself ''f**k it the drive is dying anyway might as well go out with a bang (not literally)'' and started up a few games and then a few hours later upon entering my GTA ONline hanger the pc shut down and upon restarting it I noticed that the drive had disappeared from file explorer and a few of my desktop icons were in the default file icon. so I had thought that it had died
then I got my new drive yesterday and I slapped it into my pc everything started up fine and I got onto the desk to put a partition on it then as I was opening my backup from my external drive everything went grey and I could ALT-TAB my windows open such as Spotify and steam but there was no taskbar and no desktop when I minimized everything I couldn't shut down my pc so I hit the restart button on the front of the case and when I came back on I got the same errors as before on my hard drive that was brand new
I made a new post about it on Reddit it yesterday and left it for the evening. When I got on this morning I was told to download and check Hard disk sentinel and sure enough, it was saying that the drive health was 0% and it was the spin retry count that was the problem (it is now 97) and to back up and replace,I then looked it up online and decide to download two other drive checkers (CrystalDiskInfo 8.2.0 and Speccy) but they aren't showing any problems.
So moral of the story can anyone please help me, I have been onto college lectures and everything and they don't know what is wrong, this drive is for storage of expensive Video footage and VFX files
this is my last hope in finding out what is wrong
