  1. Ah thanks. idk how I didn't have that tool yet. However I do seem to still be running at 1067mhz so I'm starting to wonder if it's an incompatibility that I'm lucky to run or a damaged RAM stick because the BIOS says it should be running at 2133mhz by default
  2. Well after some worry I did manage to update to what was capable since I only have a Pinnacle Ridge CPU so I can't do the 2 latest updates but I have now went from 1.6 to 3.5. When I did go to defaults and clear cmos before the bios update when I simply turned on a profile it did go to the normal 35% RAM utilization upon startup but now after updating the bios it still claims I'm running at 2133mhz but now I can't see a listing of mhz in my RAM to validate the speed. So I'm not certain if the issue is fixed or not. I guess I'll have to see if I regain my performance or not
  3. I'll look into that then. I just got back up after doing that and all I got was 1gb more of commited memory
  4. So to start off when I built my budget PC a year and a half ago everything worked smoothly except for a GPU or GPU port that I may or may not have broken but hey the PC works Over the last few months I've noticed my PC started running slower and slower despite reducing programs at startup and making sure I have 50+ gb of storage on my main drives instead of 30-40gb. Chrome started lagging quicker, programs started lagging more and my obs/windows record last 30s recordings were degrading worse with each month. And within the last month I've had 1 bluescreen in a game that normally runs perfectly fine and my computer started having a seizure while downloading a game and 2 chrome tabs open. Ever since then I noticed my RAM is at about 90% at startup and is running at 1067mhz Today I looked into RAM running at the speed difference I was and only found 1 thing relevant other than overclocking was someones system couldn't boot up with my cpu, motherboard, and ram combo CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor RAM: G.Skill - Aegis 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Motherboard: ASRock - B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard I have partially fixed the issue but idk if I did something safe. I went into the bios and changed a few things with unexpected results. I enabled xmp 2.0 profile 1 instead of auto, changed the mhz to ddr4-2133 which is what it claimed it was running already on the left but it had auto selected 3000 on the right when I enabled the profile, and this also changed the voltage from 1.2v to 1.35v . However when I started the PC back up I was back down to 30% utilization of RAM however it shows I'm still running at 1067mhz. When I stick my hand near the RAM I don't notice any heat so I think everything is still fine but I don't think I can give this PC to a family member once I finish my next build with this issue around
  5. No idea what raid is. I was just gonna run them once they are formated like I did with both of mine in my current build
  6. A little over budget now but now I just gotta figure out water cooling
  7. Ah ok thanks. tbh I forgot to mention but I'm debating on handing this down to a younger sibling so they have something better than an old chromebook atm. Will update the RAM
  8. I'm not sure I follow that. Wouldn't that be 8GB in 4 sticks to utilize the core/thread thing I'm starting to hear about? Where you put them in certain slots to get more power from the CPU
  9. There's only really 2 things I'd appreciate is 1 my water cooling. I'm not sure if that's just a separate cooler for just 1 component or if it's a full system like I want to do. 2 is that I'd like to make sure my build looks solid. I feel I did a little better making this one than my last build To start off my budget is $2k US and I only consider this budget to be the case and everything inside of it. I am willing to go a couple hundred over but not much more as I'm not gonna get a proper use out of a more expensive PC I think. The reason I'm upgrading is because my games are visually poor usually, GPU gets loud and in rare cases I drop FPS, recording higher quality than 30fps can sometimes cause visual and audio glitches, and when I render 3d models my CPU within seconds hits boiling when by itself. For reference this is my original PC that I'm upgrading from This originally was about $626 according to my post when I built it Build plan 1:Budget- $2k US but I can give a couple hundred leeway 2:Aim- Gaming, streaming, and 3d rendering. My original intentions was to game and 3d render and my current can only really game. 2.1: Games- My usual games tend to be around minecraft, Civilization, fallout, and Elderscrolls but that is starting to increase 3:Monitors- Currently I have 1 but I do plan on doing 2 monitors at some point but are not included in this budget 4:Peripherals- I do have my own keyboard/mouse with intentions to upgrade but not included in this budget 5:Reason to upgrade- I want a better gaming experience, can barely render a 3d model, and the computer itself is visually bland This is my current intended build with currently 2 things I'm not certain on. 1 the case I wanted is out of stock and not available in the US so I picked a similar one and my water cooling. I selected one that I'm alright with but I don't think this list allows a proper water cooling selection. CPU- looks a bit better than mine and I feel will perform a bit better GPU- idk about this one but I think it's a decent upgrade Motherboard- After compatibility warnings I decided to upgrade to a motherboard that supports duel GPU incase I decide to use 2 Storage- Once you go SSD you never go back. Also I build up storage quite quick when recording 1080p gameplay RAM- I figured 16GB would be safe but not overkill as the motherboard supports up to 128GB Power Supply- I keep hearing it's always safer to get more than you need so instead of a 450w bronze like my last I went a little better Case- I really do like the case. If I need to find a similar in a different size then I shall Cooling- I want to do water cooling.I selected what appears to be a small but hoping larger system but if I can't find a proper thing from the part picker I'll just head to micro center and follow a few guides on installation. for those who are curious idk if my port or GPU is messed up. Something snapped and ever since then I've had to keep the GPU tied in position (recently realized there's a screw slot to hold up) for it to work so idk if I will or can re-use it Thank you for reading this and I appreciate any/all opinions on this build
  10. I thought you at least get fan spin from the power suppy itself. I'm still trying to learn the lingo but most of what I know is from what I've seen on the 3 computer channels I watch
  11. Wow thank you. turns out I was poking the right part at one point but only half of it so now I have fan spin now I just gotta setup output and see how that goes. again thanks
  12. I have tried using a jump start once from the bottom of this picture labled "CLRCMOs1" and it is the only thing that looks like a jump startable area
  13. I just got my pc parts in the mail excluding my case that's a few days away but I wanted to hook everything up to a monitor to at least see it boot. I currently have my graphics card, cpu, cpu fan, 1 memory stick, 1 sata hard drive, and the power box connected but turning on the power box does nothing. Am I not supposed to get fan spin in this situation without jump starting the motherboard? As in without a case. I have replugged all power sources cpu fan is in cpu fan 1 graphics card is in pcie 2 since it's the first one that size. It's also connected to the power box cpu is in it's grooves and latched in memory stick is in first slot. it fought me but it's latched in Sata drive is plugged into the power box and mother board The power box is connected to the mother board in 2 places Big power box connector to mother board Power box to graphics card small power box connector to mother board Sate connector to mother board my parts are Mother board: ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Graphics card: PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 AXRX 580 8GBD5-3DHDV2/OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz (3.9 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2600BBAFBOX Desktop Processor RAM: G.SKILL Aegis 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-3000C16S-8GISB Power Supply: CORSAIR CX Series CX450 450W ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
  14. I'll be snagging one in the near future but I can't help but wonder how legal the copies are if it's 90% cheaper
