  1. The weight is irrelevant as long as the build quality and the battery life doesn't have to be amazing, about 4 hrs should get the job done. The display should be decent thx e.
  2. Hey guys, Im looking for a good macbook alternative for my sister. She will mainly need it to watch YT, use MS Office, play Minecraft and Star stable. Her budget is around 700eur (amazon.de). The screen size should be around 13 to 15 inches and the I/O should be... well better than a macbook. The resolution should be 1080p or higher and the laptop itself should be thin enough to adequately cool the components. She also wants the keyboard to be backlit (doesnt have to be RGB, white is enough). The build quality should be decent at least. Thanks e.
  3. I really need to make up my mind soon cos I only have 2 or 3 weeks before school starts again
  4. I need it to be a little faster than the it 8250u as mentioned above but still thanks for the suggestion
  5. hello everyone, I have already asked many times before but I promise this is the last time. I am looking for a laptop that I will mainly use for MS Word, Excel, web browsing and a bit of Minecraft UT4 on the go (native res). I need the I/O to be decent and keep the thickness under 1.8mm The screen size should be either 13 or 14 inches and I don't mind the aspect ratio (16:9, 16:10, 3:2) as long as the resolution is 1080p and higher. I need the laptop to have a decent battery life since I will be traveling and taking it to class a lot. Dedicated graphics are not a must but keyboard backlight (RBG not needed) is a must. The thermal performance of the laptop should be good enough to have the CPU (4 cores plz) go full turbo at all times. I also don't want any power limit throttling because it also compromises performance. I would also prefer a full metal body because I need it to be durable. The minimum specs are as follows: i5 8265U and higher 8GB RAM (doesn't need to be upgradeable) 256GB SSD (doesn't need to be upgradeable) If you have any suggestions, please let me know, my budget is approx 650eur Germany thanks e.
  6. I change my mind 24/7 sorry If you had approximately 650-700 eur (germany) what laptop would you spend it on (any laptop as long as it meets my expectations)? those two just seemed really nice to me thanks e.
  7. hello everyone I am considering the laptops that I mentioned in the title I just don't know which to go with. 10. how bad is the power limit throttling? can it be solved?
  11. I am really tempted to buy the Envy 13 x360 but I just wanted to make sure that the laptop doesn't have any driver or thermal throttling issues, if it does, how can they be solved? Is the laptop any good in general? Are there any better choices at the price point? thanks
  12. the my icons bit only shows my active icon pack and when I tap on it, it shows a sample of it and only gives me the option to cancel or apply. there is no drop-down.
  13. the surface laptop is great but the dual-core CPU just won't cut it, it's 2019 and it's over budget.
  14. hey guys, I am a student in search of a laptop for the following years in college. I need the laptop to carry around all day meaning it has to be light and small (approx 13inch) and a metal chassis is welcome. I need enough power to do basic tasks such as web browsing, Word, Excel, a bit of solid works and Minecraft (high details) every now or then. Dedicated graphics are not a must but I/O should be decent with at least one Type-C port and 2 Type-A ports. I have a budget of around 750eur (Germany) Till now I have been considering the HP ENVY 13'' X360 w/ R5 2500U. Is it any good? Can the thermal throttling be resolved by repasting and undervolting? Thanks
  15. thanks for the suggestion but hows the batterylife on it?
