  1. TL:DR Read the OP or don't really bother. Fairly nonsensical post if you ask me. The Corsair is said to be on the small side though, I seem to have slightly larger hands and tend to have a palm grip, making the size of the mouse more important to me than average. Any recommendations within the Roccat catalogue? Yeah, it's kind of odd that it died that quickly on me, I have been cured from the Razer blindness. Unfortunately Zowie isn't a readily available brand over here I'm liking the look of the Gladius, I'll look further into it. I'll also have to read up on the sensor types apparently. Funky looks, any reason why the T.E over the other available R.A.T ones? To be fair, I'd rather stay away from Logitech, my experience with the brand has been atrocious, I've had 7 different product of theirs, ranging from entry level to enthusiast, and almost all have disappointed. The only exception being a "silent" bluetooth mouse for my laptop. Which coincidentally wasn't silent at all, but at least performed better than most bluetooth mice I had tried up to that point. Unfortunately I have slightly larger than average hands, which makes me wary of the M45. Any reason why you wouldn't recommend the M65/95? Mionix is a brand I haven't heard of before. I'll look into that, the pricing is fine for me. Definitely not going back to Razer, this is the fastest a mouse has died on me, and has completely ruined my image of their products. Roccat is a name which has popped up before, I'll look into that as well. The RoG Gladius looks really nice for some reason. No nonsense, matching colour scheme, and Asus made. The Sabre RGB as well. Not a big fan of the Steelseries Rival unfortunately.
  2. Hi all, I'm currently using the 2014 edition of the Razer Naga Hex. After about 6 months of owning it, the numerical buttons on the side have started glitching out, as well as the scroll wheel becoming very jerky. It doesn't scroll properly any more, and pretty much decides on its own whether it wants to scroll upwards or downwards whenever I use the scrolling wheel. I've inquired about RMA, but seeing as I live in The Netherlands, it would take weeks to get it looked at, and I wouldn't have a replacement. I have reinstalled windows multiple times, as well as used different USB ports and have tried to force older Razer software to eliminate all other possible issues. Before this I used a Logitech G9X which did alright, but the software was atrocious and it had tracking issues across a multitude of mousepads. I have heard quite some good things about the G502, but I'm kind of meh about it as I have a Black/Red setup with the Corsair K70 RGB as well as a Black/Red H440 and internals. This would mean the G502 would look incredibly out of place. Not to mention I'd rather avoid the Logitech software entirely, as it nearly deafened me with the damn G930 screeching issue which happened due to the software. So I've not got a lot of options from what I can see, the most prominent options being the M65 RGB and M95 from Corsair. These would fit within my current setup in terms of colours, as well as sitting nicely alongside my Corsair K70. But before I drop another 60-80 Euro's on a mouse, I'd like to see what other options are available. I've taken a quick gander at the R.A.T and the adjustability of...everything is quite appealing. Preferably I'd like a black/red, red or black colour scheme. Hopefully not a glossy surface as during the warmer periods it can cause sweaty hands, as has happened with the Hex. I'm not too fussed about lighting effects at all, and price point isn't that big of a deal. I'd rather invest a bit more and get a proper mouse, than having to buy a new one every 6 months. I primarily play League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm, Battlefield, GTA, Hearthstone and such, if that information would help. Thanks for any recommendations you are able to provide!
  3. So after some debating on the forums here, I settled for an 4690k. Got it in earlier today and installed it immediately. It's running absolutely fine, and I messed around a bit with OC-ing. Having a bit of a giggle, I attempted to put a 4.5GHz OC on a 1.25V, and to my surprise it worked. Stress test in IETU/ROG came through solid, albeit that the temperatures were on the high side (85-90) during the stress test. So after some twiddling with the OC, I am now at a 1.175V / 4.5GHz OC on the stock cooler. I've tested out some games such as Dying Light and Battlefield Hardline Beta, getting a solid 60FPS combined with my 780ti with everything maxed out in both games, whereas I was hitting 35-50 with my i5-4430 on lower settings. The load never seems to surpass 70% according to MSI Afterburner, and the temps seem to hover around the 65-70 mark at the highest load part (71%). Not knowing exactly what is safe for this CPU, I delved into looking for an aftermarket cooler for it. However, I somehow cannot find any reviews of aftermarket coolers for the 4690k. All AIO watercooling loops seem to be tested on the 3770k and older. So I turn to you guys in hopes that you can suggest me a proper AIO solution. At first I wanted to go with the H100i, but I remembered that my best friend has had to send his one back due to faulty hardware twice. After remembering that, I kind of don't want to use a H100i. What are your suggestions? Not looking for the best of the best. Just looking for something to tame the temperatures a bit more into the acceptable levels for now.

  5. Yeah I'll keep it stock cooled for now and swap to a H100i or something when I want to go above the 4GHz.
  6. I settled on the 4690k. Thanks for all the debating and helping. Decided to just spend some extra money on the CPU, so I won't run into issues later on as well as keep resale value higher for when I swap to the X99 build. Going for an i7 seemed overkill, and the Xeon has 3 weeks delivery time on it while also being a lot more expensive. After watching about 4 hours of videos, people aren't running into any CPU issues with the FX-8350, but they are noting that the heat generation and power consumption are really high. I'll just hope I get lucky with the Silicon Lottery, so that I can push it to 4GHz on air and have that running for a while.
  7. Hmm. People on Reddit have suggested to use Shadowplay, but I'm more a fan of OBS and Dxtory for now. Shadowplay did not give me any good results. Currently, however, I am trying to stay on budget and save up for a good X99 build when prices drop a bit for a full upgrade. I'm just looking for a side grade to last me about a year/year and a half. Fortunately for me, the 790Ti seems to still pull its weight, even compared to the 980 offerings right now. So I don't need to upgrade that. If I'd overclock the 8320 to 8350 speeds on air (for now) would that be a better option than just buying the 8350 outright? Or is there an immediate benefit to having the 8350 over 8320. Hmm, I very much appreciate you putting together the list. Even though the PSU is omitted, heh. Is 4.4-4.5 feasible on solely air? Yes, the main reason I consider the AMD route is due to the motherboard which iirc is better than the Z87K budget board I'm using right now for my 4430. I don't see the 4670k reaching full potential on a board like that.
  8. I've added it in because it seemed to be the only thing equivalent in price. As well as come with a water cooling set. 9590 is somewhat understandable. However, the 8350 seems to be the best value for money on the AMD side when looking at performance? Unless the game is heavily single core based, it seems the FX 8350 performs just as well as the 4670k? Or am I looking completely wrong here? 4960k is at 270. That's 100 over the 8350. How much performance change are we talking about? Don't forget the z87k motherboard which to me seems absolute crap. Thanks for the nice post. I tried to be consice yet thorough. Despite your choice for the 8350, can you think of any reason why the 4670k would be worth more for the price? my i5-4430 begs to differ unfortunately. My GPU load seems to stick around 65-70% whereas the CPU is at a constant 100%. Unless that's normal in games like BF4 and Dying Light, it seems that my CPU is holding me back greatly.
  9. Hi guys and girls (because yes, women do exist on the net!) I seen to be having some CPU issues which are holding my game enjoyment back quite a bit. After what seemed a CPU and Mobo failure, I had to step down to a i5-4430 and z87k due to budget constraints at that time, which don't seem to bad at first, but seeing as I stream for friends and play some CPU intensive games I have a feeling I'm being held back by the 4430. Fortunately I still have a functioning 990FXA lying around from my AMD days. My other hardware: MSI GTX 780Ti G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB RAM @ 1333MHz (Will be upgrading to 16@1866 ASAP) Corsair 800W Gold PSU Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB for OS+Select games Hitachi 3TB @ 7200 RPM Games I play: Battlefield 4 Dying Light Final Fantasy XIV Planet side 2 Star Citizen Far Cry 4 Assassins Creed: Unity Stuff like LoL, Hearthstone, indie games with friends. Furthermore I'm trying to stay on a budget for now. So if there's only like a slight difference in performance, I'd rather not spend too much right now. I opted for a poll to make it easier for people to cast their vote. With kind regards, TnK
  10. Alright, good to know. Which of the two kits would you go for then? Based on speed and timings. Taking into account that within the very near future they will be running on full speed as a 16gb total.
  11. Hey all, I'm going to get some new RAM soon for my rig, but had some questions: 1. I'm eyeing these kits: http://www.gamersware.de/product_info.php/info/p28199_Avexir-Blitz-1-1-MSI-GD-Gaming--rote-LED--DDR3-1866--CL11---8-GB-Kit.html http://www.gamersware.de/product_info.php/info/p28195_Avexir-Blitz-1-1-MSI-GD-Gaming--rote-LED--DDR3-1600--CL9---8-GB-Kit.html How established is Avexir as a brand? (Big MSI fanboy here. Hence those kits with the Red LED and MSI dragons instantly stood out) 2. As for the timings and speed. is there any difference at all? They're both exactly the same price. No plans on OC-ing them. 3. I currently have 8GB of 1333MHz G.Skill Ripjaws in there. Would they play nice with the kits mentioned above, until I get a second 8gb kit and replace the G.Skills with them? Edit:spelling
  12. They're working now. After my friend brought over his PC, and tested them in his PC, they seemed to work for him. After putting it back in my PC they suddenly worked as well. It should be noted that he used a Titanium HD as well. Nothing else was changed.
  13. Going to try one last bump before I give up on it
  14. Same cables for the sake of testing. Yeah, but the thing is. If it sticks with just USB audio. I wasted 120 bucks on that soundcard. I'm trying that. The sounds seem to play, and the volume goes up, as depicted in the screenshot, but there is no sound whatsoever in my headset.
  15. Checked them, installed them, reinstalled them and removed them again. Not a single option seems to work. The optical port works fine with the 5.1 set downstairs. So it has to be some kind of configuration I'm doing wrong
