  1. Hey guys and gals, About a month or two ago Linus answered a curated question on the wan show about fun couch games he's played. He mentioned a vr game that I don't remember the name of and I'm struggling to find. The vr game had 1 person cooking and wearing a vr headset while 3 other people played against the vr player on controllers on a TV. I believe the 3 controller players were trying to ruin or stop the vr player from cooking somehow. Lastly I believe the title was 3 words. I have a couch game session planned for next week and would like to try this game. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, A fellow fan.
  2. Hello everyone, I've been considering a new setup where my computer tower is in the adjacent room to my office in my house like Linus. The adjacent room is our mechanical "unfinished" room which mostly has the central air heater in it along with some storage. After some googling it looks like a Thunderbolt PCIe card is the place to start but I don't know for sure. I'm just looking for some help on where to start and what I would need so I can get a budget number. Thanks. 3. Hello everyone, My CPU temperature always spikes every couple of second (attached image) when at idle or light web browsing for work. I think my setup has pretty good for air management. Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300A with the air mesh front. Two 120mm fans on the front for intake, and 1 on the back and 1 on the top for outtake. Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x (stock cooler, with stock thermal paste, not over clocked) I wasn't able to find a good graph of my CPU fan but it basically is inline with the CPU temp. It ramps up every couple seconds when the CPU temp jumps. Any ideas why this happens or how to fix it or is this normal? Thanks everyone. Best community!!
  4. Hey everyone, I'm working on upgrading a Lenovo workstation from a HDD to a SSD. I used Macrium Reflect as a free software to copy everything from my HDD to my SSD. It worked great that day of and a few days afterwards (shutdown after each night). But now every time I boot the PC I get Error 1962 where it can't find the OS on the SSD. Looks like next steps are to use Win10 Media Creation in a USB to repair the startup but I can't figure out why this would be happening now? Even after a few days of shutdowns it can't find the OS anymore. I haven't changed anything else mechanically or software-wise since I switched to the SSD. Just regular daily use. Anyone know why this is happening now? Thanks, Adam
  5. Hello all, I have a simple idea and have done some googling but I haven't found an answer yet. I'd like to install a smart light switch to replace the light switch that turns on my bedroom lights (hard wired), but then also tells a smart outlet to turn off my lamps (over wifi, z-wave, etc). Does anyone know of a set of products that can do this for me? Thanks a bunch!
  6. Hello all, About a year ago I purchased and built my own new gaming PC. The main components I got were the AMD Ryzen 5 3600x, MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX, GTX 1050 TI, 16GB (3200 MHz) RAM, and LG 27GL850 (1440p, 144Hz). Now that RTX 3000s is out, I got my eye on either the 3060 or 3060 TI. Knowing that both of those cards are PCI-E 4.0 and my motherboard is 3.0, is a new motherboard worth it? Thanks for your input.
  7. Hey guys, I'm having some crackling issues with my USB Logitech G430 headset for a while. It's hard to pin point the issue but it seems to happen when the computer is loading stuff or "thinking hard" (i.e. website with significant amount of ads, initial loading of games). I only hear the crackling over Steam voice (video game sound, youtube, etc.) but also seems to be worse now that I've purchased a LG 27GN850 (144Hz). My headset is plugged into an Amazon USB hub and I tried a USB slot on my computer but it didn't get better. Anyone else having a similar issue? Any suggestions? CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz GPU: GTX 1050 Ti Motherboard: B450 Gaming Plus MAX SSD: 860 EVO 1TB Case: Phanteks Eclipse (P300)
  8. Hey everybody, I recently built my first AMD computer and now I'm looking at upgrading my monitor. I currently have a 24" LG 24MP56. Nothing special but I'd like to get a 2nd one with the follow specs. Price: $400 Max, less is preferable Size: 27" inch Resolution: 1440p Refresh Rate: 60-75Hz Panel: IPS Inputs: HDMI and DiplayPort Response Time: 5ms of less Vesa Mountable: Yes I've been looking on PCPartPicker but would like to know if anyone has a recommendation. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the clarification. That's exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate it.
  10. Also, why the P12's for the case and not the F12's? Looks like the P12s are meant for heatsinks while the F12's are meant for the case. Is it because of the mesh filters?
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. Here's another question. I finished putting my build together a couple days ago and the CPU fan (stock Wraith Spire) is louder than I expected. Do you have any suggestions for a better quieter one? I'd budget around $50.
  12. Hey guys, I need some help choosing some case fans that make the most sense for my build. I'm building my first computer and purchased the Phanteks ECLIPSE P300 TEMPERED GLASS case with a Ryzen 5 3600x and a GTX 1050 Ti. Not a crazy build, but first time buying case fans and building. I'm looking to buy 3 120mm fans (1 on the top of the case pushing air out, & 2 on the front pulling air in). I don't need RBG, $30-70 budget (total), and something quiet but doesn't need to be completely silent. Here are my questions... 1) The case has mesh dust filters. Should I get a pressure or airflow fans? 2) PWM or DC. PWM sounds better but I've google'd that they can be louder than DC. Is that true? 2a) Does PWM make sense for intake and output fans? BTW, my motherboard does have 4 pin fan headers. 3) Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Hey everyone, First time building a PC for $1,000 (not including monitor) so I wanted to get some honest feedback/suggestions. I'm upgrading from a Dell XPS 8500 with a GTX 1050 TI so I'm exited :-).
