  1. Did some further testing and found it could run quite stable when locked to 4.2G all core@1.30 volts and DDR4 3800 Perhaps sometimes PBO just didn't work that well
  2. around 1.38V when running at 3900mhz core&ddr4 3800 it's around 1.3V, but it will reboot if i manually set it higher and trying to run at a higher frequency
  3. My setup: 3700x, MSI B450 mortar max, 16Gx2, 280mm AIO, PBO enabled When I set the dram:fclk to 3733:1866, it can run Aida64 FPU stress test at core freq 4000~4100Mhz with no problem. If I set dram:fclk to 3800:1900, it can only run aida64 FPU stress test at a steady 3900Mhz and temperature is 10 degrees cooler, if I change BIOS settings to make it run stress test at any higher frequency, the PC would just reboot after about a minute running. Is the core frequency drop really caused by higher fclk frequency? Is there any way to fix this?
  4. So how does the stock cooler comes with 3700x perform? I hear some people say it's noisy with PBO enabled. Or for 3700x does it make a big difference between PBO on/stock?
  5. I'm planning on building a PC, mostly gaming and sometimes for video playback. I know 9700k would beat 3700x in gaming for now, but I want this PC to last at least 5 or 6 years, so not sure if games in the future would prefer more threads or 8c8t is enough like present? I don't think I"m gonna overclock the CPU for most of the time, but I heard the 3700x wouldn't boost to it's promised freq without a decent 3-party cooler? I have a GPU already and the price of 3700x+x570/9700k+z390 is quite close here, so this would not be too big an issue.
  6. Now I can confirm the GPU has some problem. Today when I was playing GTAV the picture was broken and the game crashed afterwards. Switched to my old GTX 970 and everything is running fine.
  7. But I think furmark should not be too CPU releated, or is it?
  8. I've used gpuz then msi afterburner to monitor gpu temp, the highest is about 81,82or so.
  9. My PC has a i5-4570, 8Gb DDR3 ram, single rtx 2070, a 600w 80+ PSU. The system is windows 10 1803 64 bit with latest nvidia driver. Recently I've had problems with PUBG, the game will crash within 30minutes, no matter which map I'm playing, but it's OK when I play other games like forza horizon 4. Then I ran furmark and it will freeze within a couple of minutes, but it has no problem in 3dmark so far. What could possibly be the problem? Do I have to send the card back for repair or is it software related?
  10. Thanks Think I'll wait a couple more months
  11. Thanks and , will a nvme SSD make a big difference compared to my current SATA3 SSD? Shall I go for a nvme SSD then
  12. I've built my PC six years ago, and now looking to upgrade or build a new PC, but don't know if building a new PC would make it significant faster. I was looking into getting a i7-9700k or a ryzen 2700x, and the PC will be mainly used for games like PUBG/GTAV. If I am to build a new PC, which is better?
