Hmmm, sounds like you may have gotten a better monitor than you paid for.  Unless you wanted the higher refresh rate.

What happens when you set it to 1920x1080?  It sounds like the monitor is a standard 16:9 ratio so 2560x1080 would require black bars unless you stretch or use fill.  That would distort it though.

When I change it to 1920x1080, the whole screen is filled up, but its stretched horizontally. Basically, a square I measured on google images is 4 inches by 3 inches

  2. So, I got the LG 29WK600 of of Amazon today, and it's supposed to be a 2560 x 1080 ultrawide monitor with 75hz. I plugged in my laptop (which has integrated radeon r7 graphics) via hdmi into the monitor. But windows 10 recommends a resolution of 3840 x 2160, and whenever I put it at 2560 x 1080, there are black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. On top of that, I can't set the refresh rate to more than 30hz. I called customer service, and I was able to set it to 75hz, but I cant for some reason now. When I did it before, it set the resolution really low (around 400p). Is there a fix to this?
