  1. Chiyawa, the answer is that they must be able to sell newer models. As Ben already said, supporting older ones is more time/resource consuming. As a company, they won't get any profit from this. Back to your topic, I had some luck finding replacements on eBay.
  2. Been there. Done that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All you need is a rather sensitive skin on your neck so even with a nice electric shaver (I've used Norelco) you can draw blood. It was messy. Like, really messy. Yes, I heard about skin care and such but I was in hurry so... well, mistakes were made. What did you end up choosing, Nine Tailed? As my Braun is slowly dying atm I dig out this thread and I'd really like to hear the end of this story.
  3. I was hoping that you'd name a different budget, still - there are awesome options. I had the Klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers. They go for around $150 (got them with a good discount, might have changed) and they are fantastic. Lasted me a good 4-5 years of heavy use before I got a second pair. Probably fit more as computer speakers then bookshelf speakers but they are worth a look. I loved mine.
  4. Smartphone. Couldn't be more minimalistic (basic access to my work mail in case of emergency, internet surfing, camera - all in one). Just don't forget to take a USB charger with you. It was an unpleasant experience of mine. I don't bring my laptop with me as well, even though it's quite lightweight. The reason is simple - I don't need it. Usually you have plenty of stuff to do on a road trip. And let me mention tablets, even though smartphones are more versatile imo.
  5. Also I'd recommend to check your speed via cable first if this is possible.
  6. Another vote for Python. It's quite a nice language to learn, and has some great online tutorials to do so. You can even find free courses at coursera or other websites. I started programming for hobby, because I found out that the majority of jobs were unbelievably repetitive and boring.
