So, this is going to be a strange question, and one I ended up solving the hard way, but i wanted to know for the future:
From within windows, how can you tell what what hard drive letter is assigned to what make/model hard drive?
(Annnnd at this point i am sure some of you are going "what the heck is he going on about??" So i'll explain my situation)
I have 2 hard drives, both are 1Tb, I formatted both within windows, and promptly forgot which was which. I found that windows was happy to tell me either A) You have this (make/model hard drive) on this port. Or B) You have Drive E:\. What i couldn't seem to find anywhere was both of those on one listing so i can tell them apart. In all my years fixing PC's, I have never really come across this problem outside of a repair situation where i couldn't easily just unplug one drive and see what comes up. (Which is how i ended up solving the problem in this case) I am sure some of you are wondering why it matters, but in short, one is a WD Black, the other an Hatachi, and i wanted to know for sure i was putting things like games and such on the faster drive.
So my question is, IS there a way to show this in windows? Basically d:\Storage - WD100blahblahblah
Thanks,
Phil
