  1. No the other way around, SSD's are much faster.
  2. Going from a HDD you're going to feel a massive improvement. My first SSD was a really shitty cheap one at 128gb but it was still night and day with my HDD.
  3. I checked the speed through CMD too, and it says 2666 Mhz on all four of them. Maybe it just says a lower speed in CPU-z and Hwinfo because it's the lowest possible or something and the other two sticks only have one setting or something? I honestly have no clue how this works so if anyone knows then I'd appreciate it. Either way all of my problems appear to be solved finally :), TW Warhammer 2 even feels smoother than before and more stable performance as well as faster loading times so I am pretty happy with that.
  4. Okay Warhammer 2 has finished downloading so imma download my GPU drivers and give it a shot. Before I try anything else inside my PC tho, when I look in Task Manager it says that that the speed is '' 2666 MHZ ''. And when I check in Hwinfo it says 1066 in '' Memory Module '' when I select the faster Corsair ones but 2666 in '' Memory '' bellow where it shows the total. Can the sticks run at different speeds? I thought that they had to run at the same speeds? And like I said the Userbenchmark test said 2666mhz four times for four sticks. I am just getting confused because I am seeing conflicting numbers. Are they actually running at 2666mhz but just showing 2132 for the Corsair ones for some reason in some places? Edit: It's the same in CPU-z for example. In Memory it says DRAM Frequency: 1333mhz But then when I go to SPD and check the individual sticks the Corsair ones says 2132 (1066mhz). Am I just thinking about it too hard and being a dumbass? Or is it actually wrong like I am thinking? Second edit: I checked Memtest64 too and it says 2666mhz on all of them too? I am beginning to think that I was staring myself blind in the wrong places? I'll hold off on doing anything else until I've heard from more knowledgable people. I'll give the Warhammer benchmark some test runs tho. Update: The Warhammer 2 benchmarks ran fine without any crashes or BSOD. So I am thinking that maybe there was something wrong with my Windows install. But it didn't crash before when XMP was turned off, only when it was turned on. I am at a loss o_o.
  5. Thanks I'll try this when I put my SSD's back in again. I want to try and see what happens when I attempt to benchmark TW: Warhammer 2 again first tho, if I still get crashes and BSOD. motherboard is Z370p d3. CPU: i5 9600KF and GPU: GTX 1070 ti. I've updated Bios quite recently but I can look into that, it's not an old version tho.
  6. Title basically, I made another thread here: . I got more info there but since I managed to solve that issue I am asking here since it's memory related. My issue is that I bought two new ram sticks, Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 (2x4) GB DDR4 3000 MHz and my two older ones are Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8 gb (2x4) 2666 Mhz DDR4. I had a ton of trouble because in XMP I got BSOD and things would just crash when I tried to benchmark TW: Warhammer 2. I am currently downloading it again and am going to try now with a successful clean windows install but I still see the same problems as before in CPU-z and Hwinfo. My faster ram sticks are showing as 2132 mhz ( 1066 ), I've tried both XMP and manually setting the speed higher but nothing seems to work. When I set them manually tho in the Userbenchmark test it said that they were all running at 2666mhz but both CPU-z and Hwinfo still says 2132mhz and it's also what it defaults to in auto. Anyone know what the problem is? I am starting to think that I should just take them out and try to return them and buy two 8gb sticks instead and just run with two instead of four. But I'd rather avoid it if I could.
  7. Maybe I could try to set the new sticks to match my old ones manually? How would I go about this? I am considering either trying this or trying to return the sticks and buy two 8gb instead to just run 2 sticks for 16gb instead of 4. Edit: I set it manually to run at 2666mhz, Userbenchmark shows that all 4 are running at 2666mhz but both Cpu-z and Hwinfo are still showing the supposedly faster ram sticks as running at 1066mhz... Someone please help :/... I'd rather avoid having to return them but I just want to know. Another edit: I plugged out my other SSD's and only left in my M.2. Now it wanted me to install Windows again as if I didn't have it installed already... Couldn't because it wasn't GPT ( wtf worked before? None of my other drives are GPT either ). Converted it to GPT in secure boot and now I've successfully installed Windows 10 without having to use my USB to boot up ( hurray! ). The ram issue is still a thing tho... My faster ram still just insist on running at 1066mhz each, I even tried to swap the slots around. I did that when I was going to plug out the other SSD's too.
  8. The first time I cloned, but then when I found the USB I did a clean install. Edit: Also, my faster ram is showing 2132 mhz ( 1066mhz ) in CPU-Z? While my older faster ram is showing 2666 mhz (1333mhz ). Is that normal? I've got XMP on. In the Memory tab it says '' Timings DRAM Frequency: 1333mhz ''. I am going to watch a movie and download TW: Warhammer 2 meanwhile to see if I get BSOD again. Maybe that can be ruled out at the very least. Edit 2: No BSOD it seems like, so we can rule that problem out. Now it's just the booting error and also my ram not running at the correct speed? Edit 3: I shouldn't have spoken so soon, I tried the Warhammer 2 benchmark and first it crashed to desktop with no error, second time I got BSOD saying '' page fault in nonpaged area ''. I turned off XMP and I got through the benchmark successfully. The speeds are still low at 2132mhz tho :/.
  9. There isn't :/, none of the other drives show up either without the windows USB and it works fine when I boot with the USB in first.
  10. Kingston A2000 SSD 500GB. And my motherboard is Z370p d3. CPU: i5 9600KF and GPU: GTX 1070 ti. I really need to sleep now because I've been up for almost two days now lol. But I'll check back tomorrow.
  11. I have a problem... I just got a M.2 since I needed more space as well as 8 more gb ram and I thought it'd be a good idea to clone my OS to the M.2 since I couldn't find my Windows USB. This is where 18 hours of hell started. I started running into BSOD, at first I thought it was my ram or the XMP profile which I turned on but I ran memtests and there were no errors found. The last BSOD I got said '' UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP '' but it was seemingly random. Then I found my USB and tried to do a clean install but all that happened was that I got into an install loop where it just acted like I hadn't installed Windows on my M.2 even tho I clearly had and just tried to install again and again and when I tried without the USB it just told me that I had no Windows installed. Finally it worked, but then... Now I can't boot without the USB in and my drives also won't show in Bios unless the USB is plugged in either. Windows is installed on my M.2 I can clearly see that and everything works if I take the USB out right now when I am in Windows but if I reboot then it just goes directly into the Bios and I can't see any drives or boot order unless I put the USB back in again... Does anyone know what's wrong? Edit: In regards to the ram. It's two Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 (2x4) GB DDR4 3000 MHz and two Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8 gb (2x4) 2666 Mhz DDR4. I noticed for some reason tho in CPU-Z it says that the Corsair ones are only running at 2132?
  12. I've decided to go for the IPS 144hz one ( Acer Nitro VG240Y (Pbiip) ). Just one more question to make sure, will I need to order another cable to get the 144hz? It says that it comes with an HDMI cable but I am reading a lot of mixed things on this, and in one of the responses to a question about this on the store site they say that you can't get 144hz through HDMI. But I can see how the answer could've been framed weirdly because of the question, it was about getting 144hz on a PS4 through HDMI and his answer sorta makes it sound like he could mean that you can't get it through neither HDMI nor the PS4 or only the PS4 which only makes me more confused ( to be clear, I'll be using it on PC ). I just want to know so I don't throw extra cash on a displayport cable when I am already low on cash xD... And I trust you guys. As far as I understand freesync won't work without a displayport cable, I can get that later the most important thing right away is the 144hz. Probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure. The only monitors I've used is TN 60hz ones. Edit: Strangely enough it doesn't say that it comes with a power cable either <_<, while other screens on the store does. It's just the same for all of them right? So I can just use the one that I have now on the new one just in case? Again probably a really stupid question to most people here lol, but rather safe than sorry. Another edit: I put in the order now so it's going to arrive sometime this week. Hopefully the 144hz will work with the cable it comes with :P. Thanks for the help all!
  13. Btw, the 144hz is an IPS monitor while the 75hz is a TN monitor. I've been looking into that too, and apparently IPS monitors are slower but have better colors? Is this something that makes a noticable difference or have the technology caught up there? I have a TN monitor currently. Both says that they have a 1ms response time too.
  14. My main genre is fighting games, so they're locked at 60fps and it won't matter much. But I was mainly thinking about games like Total War Warhammer, Resident Evil 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Iceborne and such. I don't play many fps games, occasionally I do come across one but overall they're not really my cup of tea. I also jump into Final Fantasy XIV ( the MMO ) and play it for a while too a couple of times a year.
  15. Money. Too expensive for me in my current situation. I have a gift card that I want to use on a monitor but there are no 1440p 144hz in that price range. The 1080p 144hz is the best I could go up to.
