  1. Response from seller re firmware was hopeful; he stated it was stock out of the box. Here's hoping I can get something useful out of my current (pretty old) system; otherwise, this may be just the first piece of the jigsaw puzzle.
  2. Well, I bought the beast! Thanks guys for your insight! Since it's bought & paid for, I guess I don't have to worry about someone sniping it out from under me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163491313811 Though I did notice after I paid, that seller has "Relisted this item or another one like it". Damn... I looked at his other items and selling history before I bid, no prior on this and only a few other computer parts, MBs & such; like you would expect from someone selling their old gaming rig. Jeebus, I sure hope he wasn't just unloading some effed-up mining cards.?
  3. I've looked at them, and prices seem to be within $10 of the 580; same as the 570, as long as you're in the 8GB range. From what I've read, the RX580 has better DirectX12 support, so I figured might as well go for the newer card that might still have some warranty left. Right or wrong?
  4. Brain picking time: It's time to upgrade for Steam compatibility for my FPV Flight Sim; I've settled on the GX580 8GB as my prime choice for bang/buck. I have my eye on a used XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 8GB card. Appears to have not been used for mining but actually used for gaming, as I can see seller also listing pretty much his whole gaming rig. With retail box & paperwork. I have a counteroffer of $145 shipped; good deal, bad deal? Pull the trigger or no? [EDIT] The counteroffer in question was for the card only, not the guy's whole rig. Just to be clear. [/EDIT] Cheers,
