  1. I have tried this method as well after copying the data to the M.2 drive, just to make sure I have booted from the M.2 drive. then I plugged in the SATA drive while the PC is running to format it. it works just fine ?
  2. Yessss that is exactly what was wrong. all fixed now. thanks for your help and the fast reply
  3. Hi can anyone help me with this ?? im losing it. so I have been using a 1TB drive in my setup for the past year. I just bought a WD 1TB NVME m.2 drive. i’m trying to move the contents of the boot deive (ssd) to nvme using the program in this tutorial : https://youtu.be/7H7D1HcfY9o the problem is as soon as I insert the m.2 drive into the pc , windows doesnt start anymore. I though that is because its trying to boot from the m.2 while it is empty for now. Im trying to change the boot drive but the ssd drive is not appearing in the bios. as soon as I unplug the m.2 drive and turn the pc on, it starts normally. any ideas on how to boot from the ssd while the m.2 is connected so I can copy the boot folder to it? my MB is: Gigabyte z390 Aorus WiFi pro.
