  1. Thats not the problem , I used to have a graphics card and the system ran fine with it , the problem started to happen only after I took out the graphics card and switched to Integrated Intel Graphics . I have wiped my SSD and installed the latest windows 10 from scratch , it did not alleviate the issue.
  2. I am an avid viewer of Linus from the NCIX techtips days , But today I turn to you guys as I have a weird problem , my system keeps switching off and restarting when I am using integrated graphics ,without throwing any BSOD messages , minidumps folder is also empty . The only error I see in windows 10 event logs is Kernel Power. This is only after I removed my Radeon 280X dual x graphics card and switched to integrated graphics card as I intend to get rid of the graphics card , with the graphics card installed in the system, it used to run stable.I had hand build the pc with the following config last March. Intel Core i5 8400 MSI B360M Mortar mainboard. Samsung 960 Evo 256GB m.2 NVME ssd as storage. Corsair Vengeance LPX ,2666 MHZ 8gb X 2 [16GB total system memory] 550W corsair powersupply. Nothing is Overclocked except setting the correct XMP profile for ram frequency. When the system shuts down , it seems like like someone yanked the power cord , No error messages nothing , then it starts up by itself. Here is what I have already tried : I thought it was a driver issue and decided to wipe my SSD and clean reinstall Windows 10 (latest) without any external graphics card installed. Windows 10 installed properly but shutdown and restarted as soon as I got to the desktop. Followed standard troubleshooting steps thanks to the folks at MSI forums Removed XMP profile and let the system use default RAM frequency. Removed 1 stick or ram , reset the bios by taking out the bios cell for 30 mins -and restarted -> No change in behaviour The Motherboard has 2 display ports , HDMI and Display ports , problem remains the same , no matter which motherboard port I plug into. I updated the BIOS to latest , booted to windows , same problem. Surprisingly the system is stable while in BIOS settings screen , Windows 10 safe mode and Linux MINT 18.3 Software rendering mode (Hardware Acceleration Turned off) I could not find any setting to turn of Hardware acceleration in windows 10. I have enabled/disabled WHQL support in BIOS , no change in behaviour. I am beginning to think that the problem is related to Hardware accelerated graphics which could either mean bad CPU , or bad mobo , as the system runs stable while in Safe Mode(Windows 10) and Software rendering mode (Linux Mint) but how do I pinpoint the issue ? Unfortunately , I dont have the option of trying out with another CPU , as this is a personal PC , what are my options?
