  1. I think I will definitely go with the gigabyte elite. Seems to have good power delivery. Thanks for the help!
  2. Only thing is the radeon VII isn't "certified" by solidworks which mean you can't use features like real view graphics. I would rather have the ability than not. Even if the radeon is a better card. I was initially looking at a 2080 and I chose the quadro for that reason
  3. Do you know what the main difference between the Aorus elite and pro are?
  4. Right now I have a xeon E5-1620 v3 in my computer with a M4000 and when rendering both are pinned at 100% if I render with both. However I'm not sure of exact VRAM requirements. I also have 32 GB of ram and very rarely if ever utilize all 32 gb
  5. I'm in Canada so those prices would go up quite a bit. As for the radeon I'm sure it's a good GPU but I'm not really on that team red boat yet. Especially when it comes to their GPUs. Do you think the D15 would be enough cooling for a 9900k?
  6. Roughly between 60-300 components. Including a large amount of patterns and helices. Somewhere around 10mb is the file size
  7. Budget is $4000. Anything specifically wrong with that motherboard? I was looking at the maximus here xi but read some bad things about the VRM temps.
  8. Sorry guys posted by accident the first time. Wasn't finished the post yet
  9. Hi Everyone, Just looking for a second opinion on a build I am about to start. I was tasked with purchasing a new workstation for the business I work for. After pricing out some pre built I decided we would be much better to build it ourselves. I am fairly comfortable with the actual build process and am not worried about that aspect. I am just looking for a second opinion on hardware. So far I have: Cpu: i9 9900k Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 Carbon Pro Ram: Corsair Vengance LPX 3000 4x8gb Cooler: Noctua D15 Case: be quiet! Silent base 601 PSU: Corsair HX850 platinum Video Card: PNY RTX4000 Fans: 3x Noctua A14 I chose this case because it will be used in a professional environment and I like the fact it is quite and doesn't have a window. Also I think it looks nice. The PC will be mainly used for editing 4k video in premiere pro and rendering medium sized assemblies in solidworks. Budget wise it is fairly open within reason and I am located in Ontario Canada. If anyone has suggestions I am open for suggestions Thanks Ryan
  10. More like the second one. It is horizontal lines across the screen covering 40% of the screen. All random colours. And I thought that too but why when I run stock speeds is there no fragmenting. Edit: I added a picture to show the issue. This is when I change the core clock from 1070 to 1060. This is not the best example but it just flashes quickly then stops for a bit until it happens again
  11. Hello Everyone, Hoping someone can help me out here. I just received a Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X 2G D5 for free from a friend. I know this is an old card but it is better than what I previously had. I put it in my Gateway FX6800-09 and booted up the system. The system is bone stock other than now has 12 gb of RAM. The card has no issues and runs completely fine on benchmarks (Unigine Heaven) and games such as Fortnite other than randomly has huge frame drops from like 60 fps down to 10-15 for very short periods. I troubleshot this and determined if I increase the power limit by 10-20% the issue goes away. So then I decided to fire up afterburner and see how much the card really has regarding overclocking. But whenever I change the core clock or memory clock I instantly have massive fragments all over the monitor even if there is no stress on the gpu. That being said I can fire up the benchmark and after 5 or so seconds the fragmenting stops and the benchmark runs fairly smoothly. However when I close the benchmark the fragmenting resumes. So I figured maybe the card had no headroom and I tried to under clock by 10 or 20 MHz. To my surprise the same thing happens on the under clock as the over clock. The card seems to be very unstable and will crash eventually. Does anyone know what would be the cause of this while it runs super smoothly at stock speeds. Also them temperature under load after 20 minutes is around 75 C. Thanks
