The future of ISS is probably a bit more concrete (NASA & Ruscosmos are actually working to extend the life of the ISS). Originally did you hear it when you were recording, did you hear it when you listened to it or did you just observe it when looking at the waves? IIt ended up that it didn't play at all earlier. Now I've listened again and hear a bit of a click at the end of it but that's not unusual as it's the input being terminated. Do you apply any filters or eq to your mic? Have you tested it with another computer and/or a different computer?

Ok just got better (but weirder) I just restarted my computer because Razer’s device detection wizard told me to because it thought I had already uninstalled Synapse but apparently I actually didn’t uninstall it and it started once the system rebooted and the mouse worked. Actually, I think I had ran a software update. I don’t completely remember, its been a couple of hours originally when the mouse stopped working I decided to Parsec into it from my Linux laptop (so I could use the trackpad to control the mouseless computer) but Parsec ended up being unable to connect from that laptop so I ended up using Parsec on my Tablet and after I restarted the computer I was having all the issues with I proceeded to spend a couple of hours trying to fix Parsec on the laptop.

There's nothing in that clip, How did you discover this issue? Did someone else tell you that they noticed it in a Zoom meeting or while listening to something you recorded or is it self-diagnosed?

Last summer I bought a (Corsair) Commander Pro and had issues with iCue not seeing any of the fans connected to it from the getgo, so I got an RMA but never used it because I was busy with school (by the time I got the RMA it had been a few months). But it randomly started working properly when I had to reinstall Razer Synapse because Synapse wouldn't see my mouse. But it gets weirder, once the Commander Pro started working properly the RAM usage of a system process called Corsair.service slowly started creeping up and a day or two ago hit 1.5 GB. I emailed Corsair and they told me to run the repair process on iCue so I did today and guess what Synapse is being weird again (I'm in the process of reinstalling Synapse). Any ideas? One more thing, when I was about to start the repair process on iCue I went to quit it and noticed that it wasn't even running in the system tray.

Where do you source the cable itself from? I couldn't find bulk USB on Infinite Cables or Amazon.

Hey Everyone I'm back. I'd left to spend the summer working at an overnight camp the day of the last activity on this post and have been really busy with that all summer. I think I have a couple of TBs of media that will be on Plex (I'm pretty sure I wrote a previous post estimating more usage info for Plex), I think each member of my family (5) will use no more than 500GB in Nextcloud but I'll probably use about a TB as I'm studying something in college that requires me to run a bunch of VMs which I plan to backup to NC. Yes I'm running the Nextcloud instances with a 2GB Linode each and 4 to the Minecraft server. Though I'm thinking of moving my file storage to Syncthing which works differently and is dependent on the node a different way. I guess I don't really know.

My point is that I know very little about server hardware and am wondering what I need so I know what to ask for.

I'm trying to see if the college I go to is getting rid of any gear so I know that what I'm getting works and is from a trusted source. I'm still trying to figure out who to talk to. I posted this question so I could know what to ask for.

I also want to run Nextcloud and a Minecraft server on it.

Picking parts (or at least determining what specs I need) and choosing OS.

Userbase meaning what? This server would be used at home. The Plex sever would be used by my entire family (5 people) but I have no baseline to estimate how often it would be used. I estimate that the minecraft server would have no more than 20 concurrent users (it's just for my brother and I to play with our friends) and maybe if possible a few VMs (one or two for me to just mess around with Linux on and 3 Windows VMs to act as my parents and my sister's desktop (like what Linus did). Thinking about it a little more I guess the nextcloud instance probably negates the need for a local file server.

About 10 devices and it would be used locally most of the time but occasionally via the web. Most of the content we own is 1080p.

I'm wondering what hardware I should get and what specs do I need? My planned uses: Nextcloud server Mincraft server file server Plex Maybe a Couple of VMs

I’m thinking of buying a new laptop for school (which includes use of VMs), light gaming and, light video editing. I'm getting some static on the monitor when I try weake the computer from sleep and between it shuttinhg down and botting back up when I restart it. I just updated the GPU driver lets see if tthat helps. it doesn't happen while I'm using the computer. @somer4ndo @ragnarok0273

seems to be working fine now. I updated the drivers. its a D-Link but I aleady checked and instialled the updater it happened once after but since than its been fine.

Just happened again. Update 7:53pm: it happened again and this time it won't see any Wi-Fi networks. Update 7:58: just ran the troubleshooter and it seems to have fixed it. hopefully it holds.

Ran the installer let's see if it happens again

Gigabyte x570 Gaming X I just checked and the drivers dont support 20H2 yet and that's what I'm on.
