    Hi everyone, I am looking for a CPU for my next PC build. I am going to replace my i5 4670. My question is: Is a Ryzen 5 2600x (or 3600x) more futureproof than a i5 9600k because of the extra threads? I ask this question because an i7 from the same haswell family as my current CPU, is still a very good CPU for gaming. And as far as my knowledge goes, that is due to the extra threads.     Thank you for your reply! I could get a i7 4770k/4790k for around 150 to 200 euros. However, I don't upgrade my pc very often. Isn't it better to use newer parts in order to make it more future-proof? And if I want to do that upgrade, which one should I do first? GPU or CPU? Is it for example a good idea to wait for ryzen 3rd Gen?

    Hi everyone! I noticed that my 'beast' pc from 2013 is not the beast it once was. I would like to do some upgrades. However, I can't afford a completely new pc, so I want to gradually upgrade my old one. At the moment I am using a 1080p monitor but I would like to upgrade to a 1440p monitor in the future. My budget for a graphics card is 350-400 euros (the netherlands) and my budget for MOBO, CPU and RAM is €550. I would like to do the upgrade which gives me the most performance in games first. With the current hardware I have to turn the settings down to low-medium in games such as BFV. I also use my pc for my study. CPU: i5 4670 (non-k) GPU: MSI Geforce gtx 770 2gb Gaming OC MOBO: MSI z87-G41 PC-mate RAM: Crucial ballistix sport 2x4gb 1600MHz PSU: OCZ 600 watt SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB HDD: Seagate 2tb 7200rpm Case: Corsair Carbide 400R

    I did some more research and I think the problem is caused by some bent socket pins. However, don't feel comfortable to repair those myself.

    Hi everyone! Back in 2013 I bought a pc which was ensembled by a computer company. I want to upgrade it step by step (first GPU) and ran some benchmarks on it. When I opened CPU-z I discovered that my 2 stick of DDR3 ram 1600MHz were running in single channel. The people from the company placed the 2 sticks of ram in dimm 1 and 2 and not the, by msi (MOBO) advised, 2 and 4. I tried to place it in slot 2 and 4 and the pc did not boot. It also did not boot when I placed the sticks in slot 1 and 3. Both my mobo and ram should be capable of running in dual channel. Does anyone knows a solution to this problem? CPU: i5-4670(non k) MOBO: MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate RAM: CrucialBallistix Sport DDR3 1600MHz GPU: MSI GTX 770 2gb OC
