So my GTX 1080 has no signal, but fans are spinnning. Tried to use the 2nd bios still not working. Took of the backplate and cooler to check if chip gets hot, it does not. If i unplug the 6pin or 8pin the chip gets hot and screen says connect power to the gpu and reboot. So i found my multimeter to check the card. When the powercord connected to the card only PLL gets voltage and sits on 1.8v, no vmem or vcore. Ive never tired soldering with a soldering heat gun but im up for the challenge. I bet chip is fine since it can display something. Im sure there's a short from pcie 6 or 8 pin. Do some of you have any experiense with repairing cards like this. What should i look for? Any advise appreciated! Thanks in advance
