  1. Yes, crashes randomly. Maybe my ram modules not good enough? Kingston hyper x 16gb kit 2x8 HX426C15FBK2 2666mhz cl15 Maybe 2666 cannot overclock well with 9900k? With 8700k no problems
  2. Hi! Which vcore voltage is typical for let say 4.7ghz? Sure I'm novice to bios and setup for i9 9900k on gigabyte z390 aorus pro, corsair hx850. I cannot get my i9 9900k to perform well. With default bios settings i even can't boot. Disabled turbo enhancement Disabled turbo mode at all Cpu frequency set to 4.4ghz Vcore voltage to 1.3 Works ok, passes cinebench, performance test. Is it normal? 1.3v for 4.4ghz? Can it be bad cpu chip?
  3. Stefan Payne Thank you! Changed mboard since to gigabyte z390 aorus pro and ordered pcie to pci convertor.
  4. Arjan W Thank you for the link. Helped. Now if experiments with bios causing black screen - pressing power button for a few secods initiates start stop sequence and restarting pc resets bios. But after bios flash , it took a while and many attempts before board showed bios... Pfff. Now my i9 9900k is working, but very strange. With default bios settings pc won't boot, till i turn turbo enhancement, turbo boost off. Max i can get 3.9 ghz manually entering in bios. Have Changed psu to corsair hx850 since first post, same result. Over 3.9ghz on all cores causes blue screen. Where to start? I'm noob in bios settings. Is it possible that ram or... Any HW component is incompatible with 9900k? Or it is a bad cpu chip? Can it be? Can anyone help me with bios settings for i9 9900k on gigabyte z390 aorus pro? Thanks
  5. Hello! Just recieved z390 aorus pro rev 1.0,and have a new build done successfully with bios f5 (default on mb) I9 9900k16gb ddr4 cl15 2666 hyper xEvga gtx1070 scBe quite shadow rock 2 Corsair rm550x On first launch with bios f5 i was able to enter bios setup as usual. But attempting to install windows 10 gave me BSOD, blue screen. So i downloaded recent bios version f9b, and flashed thru bios utility q flash. After sequence completed and automatically restarted - black screen, nothing... On motherboard red vga (left lower corner) is lightning... Tried cmos reset with screwdriver, nothing. Tried remove gtx1070 and connect via onboard hdmi... Nothing... What can i do?
  6. It can`t. manually i can get 4,2ghz on all cores at max. Higher - hello BSOD!
  7. What do you think about Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro ? Is it good for stock i9 9900K turbo boosts? Not interested in extreme overclocking.
  8. Will See...looking to try new MB for 9900K Any thoughts? sure, tried both bioses 3.20 , 3.30 - same results in theory yes. my only doubts - temperatures on cpu and mb sensors were OK all the time. maybe BIOS , VRM issues? all around that
  9. So here we have a build, that is working, but not as expected. Be quite silent base 801 (3x140mm fans) Corsair rm550x Asrock z370 pro4 I9 9900k Be quite shadow rock 2 cpu cooler Ddr4 16gb 2666mhz cl15 kingston hyperx Evga gtx1070 sc Ssd: samsung evo 860 500gb, toshiba tr150 480 gb Wifi card on pcie Rme hdsp 9652 on legacy pci Initially i had i7 8700k in this setup, all working perfect. Swapped for i9 9900k with latest bios 3.30. Aaand i got a BSOD every time. Random bsods. Default bios setting doesn't work like it should for i9. Lowering manually processor speed in bios oc menu to max 4.2 ghz on all cores and bclk 100 helps. But i can't get more than this numbers. Wtf? I9 in default turbo should get 4.7ghz on all cores. Performance test also showed cpu performance lower than usual for i9 = 15000+, instead of 21000+ Temperatures of cpu and mb are fine. 30-36 celsius in idle. Cpu in cinebench 80 celsius short peak. First i thought psu is not enough. Pulled out every component. leaving i9, one 8gb ram stick, system ssd alone. Even in oc till 5ghz, 550 watt should be enough, as i9 5ghz is about 250-270 watts. Sooo, loaded bios defaults... No result... Bsod every time till cpu frequency lowering to 4.2ghz. Where should i start? Change motherboard, psu or have i "bad" i9 chip? Asrock z370 pro4 have 10 phases, but those really are (4*2)+2. Now I'm thinking motherboards vrm not getting right voltage for i9? Can it be?
  10. Ok here is what i plan to build for music creation purposes Please comment I7 9700k or i9 9900k Asrock z370 pro4 Corsair rm550x Be quite shadow rock 2 Be quite silent base 801 Hyperx hx426c15fbk2/16 fury 16 gb ddr4 2666 mhz memory kit (2 x 8 gb) Ssd Samsung evo 850 pro 250gb Gtx1060 Pci Audio card: rme 9652
  11. Ok Thanks a lot! Which mb would you recommend for i9 9900k plus pci riser? 200 bucks range Would msi z370 pc pro or gigabyte z370 hd3p be better? These mb have pci. About power consumption It's rated 95w tdp? same as 8700k,9700k In turbo on all cores it's about 170w.
  12. Princess Cadence Thanks for tech clarification. Just don't want a hassle with cpu returns in case 9700 or 9900 will not work with pci. Can't find any info on intels web, regarding pci support in new cpus. GoldenLag Legacy PCI not pcie If there is users who's sporting z370 pro4 + i9, i7 and using old pci slot, share your experience please. Ps(funny i9 plus pci.... Haha... And no rgb lights? Cmon, manufacturers should gap this hole with premium boards supporting beauty in 2019 and oldie pci)
  13. Hello world! Need to have working legacy pci slot and want current i7 or i9 From motherboards that have legacy pci, asrock z370 pro4 seems ok and supports i7 9700k and i9 9900k. Question is Would pci slot work with those cpu's? Or should i pick i7 8700k which is proven working solution. Thanks
