  1. The page does load right on Firefox, but the program still gives me the exact same problem
  2. It's running Windows 10 Pro N, version 10.0.19042
  3. Hi! I've recently coded a program in Python 3.9 that takes the output of a RSS feed (from Environment Canada, for weather forecasts) and converts it to a string, which is then converted to TTS and saved in a .wav file. The program works amazingly well on both of my main computers... except on the computer that's supposed to run it 24/7. I've identified that the problem comes from FeedParser (the Python library that converts the XML file to a string), and what happens is when I execute the code to get the XML file: import feedparser NewsFeed = feedparser.parse("https://meteo.gc.ca/rss/city/qc-133_e.xml") print(NewsFeed) Instead of getting a normal output, which would be the XML file at this address: https://meteo.gc.ca/rss/city/qc-133_e.xml I get this result: {'bozo': True, 'entries': [], 'feed': {}, 'headers': {}, 'bozo_exception': URLError(SSLCertVerificationError(1, '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: self signed certificate in certificate chain (_ssl.c:1129)'))} I've looked into this problem a bit, and while monkeypatching could work, I am not really comfortable with the idea. What could be the problem there? TIA!
  4. Hi! I've been working with DaVinci Resolve 16 for a long time until recently when they got out the v17 update. However, since I installed it everything is going wrong with it and now (even after a complete reinstall of all the programs inlcuded with it) it just won't launch, no matter the version I install (tried with latest version and version 16.2.3). When I click on the program, the DaVinci normal window will open, but as soon as it will get to "Loading Fairlight page" it just seems to move to the background and nothing happens afterwards. (Both versions did the exact same thing) I have included the .nfo file of my PC and the logs of the program right before the multiple reinstalls I've tried. My detailed specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (Stock speeds and cooler) EVGA NVidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti XC (triple-slot) Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x8GB@2666MHz Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Kingston A400 256 GB M.2 Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM EVGA 450 BR Thanks in advance, RedEdain config.nfo DaVinci-Resolve-logs-_151615,44.zip
  5. Budget (including currency): 400$ (CAD) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Data storage Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Basically, I plan on building a system that will be able to store weather maps and weather data on two separate 500 GB HDDs, and maybe more down the line (I already have the 2 drives). However, I want the OS to be stored on a separate drive, preferably a SSD. I don't need a case either. It does not need a lot of processing power, so I am comfortable on buying used older hardware from EBay to lower the price. The system will stay on 24/7, except from weekly maintenance (cleaning and verifying that everything is going well). If possible, a CPU with an iGPU would be perfect. TIA!
  6. This post may be on the wrong thread, but I think this fits in. Since I need to attend online classes, I use my PC much more than before, and lately I found it to be too loud. Currently I have inside a Cooler Master MasterAir G100M, on a Ryzen 5 2600 at stock speeds (I will not overclock in the future), and I was wondering if I could instead use the stock Wraith Stealth since it seems less loud. I have also 4 fans in my system, the 2 stock Corsair 120mm that were included in my Carbide 275R (front, intakes), and 2 Corsair LL120 (back and top, exhaust) or something (they are quite cheap and have red leds). I was planning to install the stock cooler with the included thermal material instead of the G100M and remove the 2 stock Corsair fans since I still want red lighting in my case. Does this seems like a good idea?
  7. Looks like I didn't had the right version. I found how to download the proper one and it is now working, thank you so much!
  8. java version "1.8.0_241" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_241-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.241-b07, mixed mode) This is the result I get
  9. It gives again the same error shown in my lastest reply. How can I be absolutely sure that I'm running 64-bit Java? (Which I'm now doubting I am)
  10. It gives the same result. Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4096M The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size. Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occured. Program will exit.
  11. Yes, that is how I started my server with 1.5GB of RAM (Xms and Xmx to 1500M) and as soon as I tried to put more it wouldn't work.
  12. Hi there! Basically, I have this modded server on a dedicated computer SPECS: Intel Xeon X5650 @2,7GHz (No overclock yet) 8GB of DDR3 RAM @1333MHz Seagate 1TB 7200RPM HDD Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, might change for Linux (If anything else is needed, feel free to ask) I won't run anything else on the computer so I was willing to use 5-6GB of RAM for my server, since it has 48 mods on it. The point is I can't put anymore than 1500M of RAM for it or it will tell that it can't run on more memory. I was told by searching on internet that my Java needed to be in 64-bit. Which it is. I was also told that my OS needed to be 64-bit, and it is. But still, the server won't boot up with more than 1.5 GB. I am running a 1.12.2 Forge server (version 2847) with the .jar. TIA!
  13. Hi! I have a Xeon X5650 that I first wanted to put into a motherboard with 4 RAM slots (in DDR3) but the motherboard ended up not working. I instead took another with 6 RAM slots, and since I needed more RAM anyway, I was trying to find the exact model of the memory but I can't find it anywhere either on the stick or on the box the sticks came in (ordered from EBay) The memory chips are Kingston 128 MB (D1288JELDPGD9U) and the sticks are 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 non-ECC (PC3-10600U) If I add two more sticks that aren't the same brand but the same size, frequency and also PC3-10600U, will it work fine? Thanks!
  14. Yes, it's the one that is already installed
  15. Hi! Since I can't find any results, I wondered which cooler is better for my Ryzen 5 2600, I have either a Cooler Master G100M, or the AMD Wraith Stealth. I don't really care about the looks, I only want the temps to be as low as possible. Both of them have the included thermal paste on them. If you have the under load average temps for either one or the other cooler, it will be of a great help. The reason why I don't test it myself is because I don't want to waste the Stealth's thermal paste, since it's brand new. Thanks!
  16. Hi! I wanted a gaming server since a little while, mostly to handle a Minecraft server. I have a really tight budget (about 300$ CAN), so I started shopping on Ebay, and I found a couple of parts that might be interesting: Ebay CPU: Intel Xeon X5570 @ 2.93GHz, 11,81$ CAN (Shipping included) Motherboard: Chinese X58 DDR3 ECC motherboard, 65$ CAN (Free Shipping) RAM: IBM 49Y1446 ECC 2x4GB @ 1333MHz, 16,20$ CAN (Free Shipping) CPU Cooler: LGA 775/115x/1366 compatible 4 heatpipes 92mm fan, 23.87$ CAN (Free Shipping) Amazon Case: Rosewill SCM-01, 36.99$ CAN (Free Shipping) PSU: EVGA 4 N1 400W, 55.32$ CAN (Free Shipping) Note: The server will likely run on Windows 10 Pro Will it run okay or should I consider something else? If you have other suggestions that can be more viable for the server or cheaper, you can tell me here. Thanks! EDIT: This topic is not whether or not I should build or rent a Minecraft server, it is to ask if this build will be working or not, I won't rent a Minecraft server.
  17. Hi! For Christmas, I thought I could offer my dad a small PC (no need to be a high-end gaming PC) for him to plug on the TV and play X-Plane 10, and maybe later X-Plane 11 and Microsoft Flight Sim 2020. For now, I managed to take my old rig (The first PC I have ever bought and manage to game on it for 65$ total) Which is a Core 2 Quad Q9400, 6GB of DDR2 RAM and a GT710. I will also add a 1TB hard drive in it. For this, I will need a new case, since the old one doesn't even had any drive bays beside for the optical drive, and a new power supply since the old one is a SFX form factor. The computer will run on a 1080p 46" TV through HDMI. The case will likely be a Deepcool Matrexx 30 (39.99$ on Newegg + 10$ Shipping) or anything you can think is better. I don't have any idea for a power supply, so any suggestion below 50$ (CAN) would be welcomed! Also, if there is a better CPU that can fit the motherboard (LGA 775, DDR2 Memory) and a better GPU for 75$ or less in total on Ebay, it could be also great. Thanks!
  18. It allowed me, but nothing happened, I had still the same message stating that I can't install Windows on it.
  19. When I tried to boot it VIA USB, it wouldn't let me install Windows on it, as it was a "GPT Partition", but I might try to scan it. Thanks!
  20. Hi there! One of my friends has many broken laptops and he offered me to take them, since they were unusable. In one of them, I found a Seagate 1TB HDD (ST1000LM024) that I'm willing to use in a PC for my dad. The thing is when I try to reinstall Windows 10 (It already had Windows 10 installed on it, but I wanted a fresh copy) it says that this is a GPT Partition so I can't install Windows on it. Fine, I'll just convert it again in MBR. Nope, the drive doesn't want to be cleaned. I can't even manually delete files, as it says that there's programs that are running from that drive (Which they're not supposed to) So, my question: How can I install Windows on it properly, or delete all the files on that drive? (Like if there's a way to stop all programs from specified drive) Thanks! EDIT: After checking, the cleaning was pretty much successful, with the drive almost empty, unless with the diskpart or manually, it still refuses to reformat it or to convert it to MBR, telling me that there are programs that runs from that drive.
  21. Hi! I've had this project for a long time to build a Minecraft server (The hardware, just to be clear ?) and I think I have saved enough money now. I'm planning to take mostly parts from eBay (The SSD will be brand new from Amazon and the Case will be a modified Dell Precision 450) Here's my build: CPU:AMD Opteron 6328 @ 3.2GHz 8-Core Motherboard: X89 Chipset Socket G34 PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt Lite 500W 80 PLUS RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz GPU: NVidia GeForce GT710 (Just for the setup, already bought) Case: Modified Dell Precision 450 (Front panel made from scratch) SSD:Patriot 120GB SSD For a grand total of 268$ CAN. I don't have a CPU Cooler yet, as many don't really fit my budget (looking preferably for a passive) and I might add 2x120mm fans from UpHere in the front panel. The system will power on with a simple button that I already have. It will run on Windows 10 and have a Ethernet cable connection of 60Mb/s in download and 10Mb/s in upload. Do this build seem viable or I should consider another option? For note, I have a budget of around 350$ CAN and/or an old system I can use (Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66GHz 6GB DDR2 RAM, same GPU). Thank you for your answers!
  22. Hi! Since I will be using my laptop for school, I needed to reset it completely. I was suspecting many viruses to be on my computer, which motivated that decision. (I now installed Norton) But after everything was done, I go through the usual settings for the final installation, and as soon as I got on the desktop, I try to open Edge to install Chrome, but once I opened it, it closed on it's own after 1 or 2 seconds. Tried it 3 or 4 times more, same result. I restarted it and tried again, same thing happens. After that, I pushed my Windows button to close the computer, but nothing happens. I click on the bottom left corner Windows button, still nothing. (I closed my computer with Ctrl+Alt+Delete) This was yesterday. Today, I installed Chrome with a USB Stick, and managed to go through Internet for basic softwares (Norton and Minecraft ;) ) and setup everything. Once I got to change the settings like Bluetooth and being able to scroll with the touchpad, it showed me an error written like that or so (Screen Capture doesn't work either) "There is no program associated to the file to execute this action. Please install a program or, if done, create an association between this file and the default parameters page." The thing is that page doesn't work either. Do you have any idea of how I can fix this? ---------------------------- SYSTEM OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit MODEL NAME: HP ProBook 640 G1 (Customized) CPU: Intel Core i5-4300M GPU: Integrated (Intel HD Graphics 4600) RAM: Crucial 16GB 2x8 DDR3 SSD: HGST HTS725050A7E630 (Information given by the Task Manager) -----------------------------
  23. Just a little precision, the 5A postcode also appeared with my last gpu, a MSI GT 710.
