Hey all,
I recently purchased myself an i7 4790k as an upgrade to my i5 4460. After installing the i7, I launched my computer and gamed for about 3 hours, only to notice my games start stuttering and freezing. I thought it might be my new CPU so I checked the temperatures and found that my CPU was cooking itself at 98 degrees (Celcius). I turned turned off my PC ans came back to it a few hours later and went straight into BIOS, only to see my CPU temperature go from 60 to 88 instantly. 88 degrees celcius is really fricken hot i tell you like i cook oatmeal at that temperature.
Specs:
z97 mobo
Evga gtx 970
i7 4790k
16 gb ddr3 hyper x or sumn
some power supply
ssd and hd ye
I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me prevent my CPU from exploding.
Thanks,
Josh
