I’m planning a NAS on my network to stream video and share files between clients (currently 2 laptops, 1 desktoppc, 1 tv and 3-4 mobile clients) using a LACP switch and the ISP router. The main objective is, given any transfer between clients and ongoing internet connections, to be no bandwidth limitations (without upgrading to 10Gbps). So the setup is as follows:
Router connected to Switch for internet and wireless access to the LAN
NAS using 2x1Gbps to Switch
Desktop connected to Switch
TV connected to Switch
2 Laptops and mobile clients connected to Router for internet and LAN access (just for the laptops)
NAS is accesible from every device (that’s why the 2x1Gbps), desktop pc is accessible from both laptops only, laptops don’t interact between each other. What should I do to prevent LAN and Internet slow downs over this setup? (2 human clients)
And also, if transferring over LAN between any 2 clients, for example desktop pc and NAS, assuming a transfer rate at 1Gbps, will this slow down internet access on my desktop pc? maybe due a bandwidth limit over ethernet, will using ethernet and wifi bridge solve this issue?
