I haven't opened the card yet. The logical part of my mind is telling me i should be fine with it. I had been intending on getting the 6800XT when i started this build. This card is around the same, if a little better, in terms of performance, So it should be a wash. Then there's the part of my mind that's thinking i could have done better. Realistically? I don't know if i'd even tell a difference. Especially coming from my laptop with its 2070 Super.

I had initially been planning on 1600/1700 as my final build total. As I said before, with everything i have now, im just as 1400.

So I'm in the middle of a fully new desktop build. AM5, 7800X3D for the CPU. Went to Microcenter this morning and picked up a Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT ($550) for my GPU. My goal is to game at 1440p at high, with around 144 fps. My total build has worked out to just around $1400 USD. Everything I've been seeing now today has be second guessing my decision on this card. Almost everyone seems to be of the mind either get the 6800XT, or a 6950XT instead for around the same price point. Should I return it and try for one of those? Should I spend alittle more and try to bump up to a 7900XT?

Right now, im running a dual monitor set up, an AOC C27G1 and C27G2, Both are FHD, Both with a 1500 curve. And with the two side by side, it takes up all the available space on my desk, with where i have to have it sitting. I'm looking at replacing one with something that can push out 1440p to use that as my primary gaming monitor. I'm tempted by afew of the OLED or MiniLED monitors, but ive noticed most of them have a 1000r curve to them. I'm wondering how that would play beside the other monitor that stays in place.

Forgive me if this isn't quite the correct place for this question. It isn't really a question the X3D chips are top of the heap when it comes to gaming, but have the trade off that productivity tasks aren't as good. Now, this had me wondering. For virtual tabletops, Such as Foundry, Or tabletop simulator, In a situation where the game is being hosted off of my computer, And i have four, five other players all connecting into it over the internet, Is the 3D V cache going to make a difference? With other users accessing the world on my system, would this be something a chip with a stronger productive footing have an easier, and smoother session with?

I am currently only at 1080p, limited by my monitors, I'm planning on buying a 1440p monitor as well, Since my Vega 64 should be able to push that resolution. Eventually i am planning on replacing that too, with a 6800XT

So after watching AMD's newest releases, And the apparent issues that they seem to be having with the 7000 R9 X3D Chips not performing as advertised, Along with issues i've been reading about where Asus motherboards are having issues in running EXPO with any sense of stability (Im not sure if other manufactures are having these issues too), It just makes the most sense to me now, In both financial terms, and seemingly now ease of usability/performance to stay on AM4, and grab a 5800X3D to replace my old 2600. I'll be replacing my old heatsink (Coolermaster Hyper 212 black) With something new, (looking at either the be Quiet Dark Rock 4 Pro, or the Deepcool AK620) What i'm not sure though, is if my current 16 GB of DDR4 3200mhz CL16 Teamgroup T-Fource Vulcan Z, is sufficient for the upgrade, or if i should also be looking at bumping this up to 32 GB of RAM now. My Motherboard is a B450 Tomahawk, (not the max) So it looks like the 3200mhz is the highest supported frequency, even with a bios update to the latest in support of the X3D chip.

I have a simple question. I'm looking at upgrading my current Ryzen 2600 build to hopefully last me another 5 years. Planning on picking up a 5800X3D for the CPU, but im ending alittle stumped on what to do for the RAM. Currently I have 16 gigs total (2x8) of DDR4 TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 3200 CAS 16. I want to push that up to 32 gigs total, but i'm not sure if it would be better, to get another 2x8 kit for four total sticks, or replace it with a pair of 2x16 sticks. I know my current MB doesn't support higher frequencies, so 3200 is what I'm looking for.

I can concede that right now, I don't have the need for a more powerful card. But I am planning on picking up a new QHD Monitor, So my goal with that is going to be 1440p, and at minimum 60fps, though ideally closer to 100 I've been giving though to getting games like Horizon, God of War, Cyberpunk, etc.

Just so I have a bit of a better idea, What games would you say, would necessitate a new GPU?

Budget (including currency): $1000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mass Effect, Stellaris, Second Life, Other details I built this computer several years ago, Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black CPU Cooler, MSI B450 Tomahawk, 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 Teamgroup F-Force Vulcan Z, Sapphire Radeon Vega-64 Nitro+, A cheap cannot remember the brand 512 GB SSD, and a 650w EVGA G2 PSU. And I'm thinking that it's time to be updating, if not an entirely new build. What I'm thinking of, to try and keep things cheaper for the time being. Getting a 5800X3D CPU, Another 16GB of the Vulcan Z to match what is already installed. And then im stuck on the GPU. It's most likely going to be the most expensive part here. I currently only game at 1080p, since that's all my monitors can support. I would like to eventually get a 1440p monitor, so I'm wondering if I should just get a card for that now. I had been looking at a $450 6750XT at my local Microcenter, but of course its sold out now, leaving the next card being $650. I had also played with the idea of picking up a used 6800, I found a two, One Gigabyte OC for $400, or a Powercolor Red Dragon for $430. Any suggestions?

Hello all, Im having a little technical glitch every so often that i was hoping i might be able to get some insight from those who might be a little more well versed that I currently am. Afew years ago i built myself Ryzen 2000 series based computer, And i lucked out and was able to get ahold of a new Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64 to toss into it. It's worked beautifully since then. I just recently added a second monitor to my setup, and thats where the small issues began. Every so often on start up, the system will only seem to recognize a single monitor as being connected. A reboot or two will bring the second monitor up. I've also had the rare occasion where, after having both monitors come up, one will flicker and go black for several seconds before coming back on. When this happens, it does not revert to displaying on a single screen, it will keep the dual screen set up, i just cant see one. I have noticed that the issue only seems to occur on the monitor the system recognizes as 'screen 2'. This happens to be my old monitor, not the new one. I have tried moving cables around, that has not seemed to have an affect on the issue. Any help would be appreceated

The stick is supported in Windows 10, my old rig would run no issue. the USB ports work, other devices register no issues. i think I'll need to get an Ethernet cable and run it across the room to the port, it's the only way I can think of to get a connection.

I finished assembling my new build last night, powered up, got windows loaded in, and went to plug my old usb adaptor in... and nothing. The computer doesn't seem to recognize it at all. Network connections is trying to get me to plug in a LAN cable, any ideas what to do?

Well, that makes it easy to pass on the Seasonic. I had also been looking at Rosewill Capstone/Photon units, but ive seen some.. concerning reviews for them at 650W. The Bitfenix looks decent, but its running around $90 right now.

My build is Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB 3000mhz RAM, B450 Tomahawk/Pro Carbon (depends if i can get the open box before it gets sold), 500GB M.2 SSD, Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse

Im looking between these two units right now, Both as 650W, Both of them are on sale, bringing them down to around $62-$72. The Seasonic is the larger discount right now, but its via a MIR, the EVGA is all upfront discount, but slightly more expensive. Which of the two would you recommend?

As im looking for RAM for my build, im currious. I've always heard of G. Skill, or Corsair, But these other companies, GeIL, Team T Force, Ballistix, Are they worth looking at themselves? Are the $80 16GB 3000 kits worth their price over the more expensive $120 kits? Why is it so difficult to ignore wanting RGB...

So im in the process of working on a new build, i have most of my components decided on now, but the one that keeps giving me fits is figuring out what PSU to go towards. I've narrowed down to the point of going for a 650W unit, i dont think that i'll need anything more powerful then that, while at the same time, it gives me some overhead on my 2600 and Vega 56 to draw on. Now what im having the most problems with is deciding what unit to actually go with. Im trying to keep myself around the $60-$70 range. I've seen afew Rosewill Capstone and Photon units on Newegg that are either on sale, or openbox at this point. By the PSU tier list, these are both listed as B tier.. but then i keep seeing people say they arent very reliable units. I've been seeing alot of people reccomend the TX-M, but thats alittle more expensive them im wanting to do, if i have another option open to me first.

I'm assuming this is a reference card? If I'm all air cooled is there really any difference between reference or a custom?

So I'm currently trying to work on a new build, but I'm getting hung up when it comes to picking out what I want for my graphics card. At current, the only monitor I have to work with doesnt go past full HD 1080. I've been trying to find a vega card, leaning towards a sapphire, which is seems I'm finding new nitro+ 64s cheaper then the used 56s. Would this card just be overkill? Should i be looking at the 580/590 instead?

Currently im not playing all that much. I've got Star trek online, Second Life, and some old stand bys like Witcher, Skyrim, Fallout 4 If im not planning on overclocking, (mainly since i dont know how to at this point), Is the 8600k/9600k Worthwhile over the 8600/9600?
