  1. Greetings everyone! After looking at some headphones and ignoring some and taking other advice from this audio board, I landed at an attractive deal from beyerdynamic, offering the DT 990 Pro not only in black and a good bit cheaper but also with an Impedance of 80 Ohms rather than the usual 250. I really like how they look and from what I've seen and heard I believe I'll like the sound signature and feel as well, if I wasn't getting these I'd be getting the normal 250Ohm pros and a DAC/AMP, and as always if I feel I am in luck I decided to check if I'm missing some detail. The problem with checking details is that there is no specific datasheet: The datasheet at the bottom of the page is not the one for this specific product but rather the normal DT 990 Pro, as shown in the picture and the number in the top left corner. Therefore, I am here to consult the LTT Audio board: Can by onboard sound run it? I have a Gigabyte Gaming X X570 Motherboard. I don't know which other stats are relevant for this, so I don't know if it helps, but it uses the Realtek ALC887 audio codec. Also, I don't really like very loud audio, I have fairly sensitive hearing so I prefer it a bit more on the quieter side. I tried - and failed - to get on the english beyerdynamic page, so here's the link to the german page of the product in question, if you're in luck, you might get redirected: https://www.beyerdynamic.de/dt-990-pro-limited-edition-80-ohm.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_N7hvsDd7wIVh5SyCh2ndw3HEAkYAiABEgJiXvD_BwE It has a button marked "Datenblatt" if you scroll down to the Downloads section, thats the data sheet download. Thanks for any responses! Best regards.
  2. Good day! I'm looking to buy a microphone and a headphone (and anything that increases the value for money if there is anything) for a total of roughly 300€, a bit more would be okay but preferably a bit less. I don't really know a lot about audio at all, so I'm unsure whether the things I'm looking at are a good value. Regarding the microphone: It doesn't have to be anything special, but it should be clear and pleasant to listen to. I'm not planning on doing any recording, however for the sake of my friends ears it should still sound adequate in the discord. I'm currently using a Logitech G633 headset. The microphone is acceptable but far from good. It also picks up a lot of keyboard noises (I use Cherry MX Brown keys) which is the most annoying part. I've been looking at the Marantz Professional MPM-1000U. I don't have space on my desk for a microphone arm, I do however have an unused shelfboard roughly half a meter over my mouth that might make a good place to suspend a mic from. I need it exclusively for my computer, it doesn't have to be mobile. Regarding the headphone: I'm gonna be using it mostly for discord, gaming (all kinds, a lot of shooters and RTS though), and a bit of music (hiphop primarily). I don't plan to use it with my phone and I don't plan to leave the house with it. I can probably fit an Amp on my table if it's helpful. I have a Gigabyte Gaming X X570 Motherboard. Looking forward to any responses! Best regards.
  3. Why do you like wireless keyboards? I only see disadvantages in them.
  4. Minecraft RTX is certainly an exciting thing! I'm soon to own a new PC and I'm afraid I'll miss the 15 FPS min settings in minecraft my current one is running, so I'm hyped to hear about a setting that can emulate the experience. There is an issue though: I'm playing in the java version of Minecraft. RTX support was announced "for Windows 10". Can anyone tell me if they mean the OS by this (meaning you can only run it on a Windows 10 device) or the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft (so it doesn't work with java edition)? Greetings L.F.
  5. I pretty much already have a fully researched and planned build, I did it about 2 weeks in advance. From today, is it worth it to still wait for the "official" Black Friday/Cyber Monday?
  6. Hello there! So I'm still picking parts for my 1400€ gaming PC. This time I'm bothering you all because I plan on ordering all compontents on cyber monday/black friday. I've never ordered anything on these events though, and so I have no idea what to expect. How great are the general deals? What are some more specific parts you would expect to go on sale more extremely? Once again, ask anything you need to know!
  7. Essentially, I should get one with good thermal performance and noise levels and overclock it myself + rather a better chipset than worse but more expensive one. Got it. Thanks a lot! On that note, have a nice night gentlemen!
  8. So I've been picking parts for my 1400€ (in Germany, that is) gaming rig lately. Now I don't know a lot about PC hardware, so I've been wondering what the different manufacturers of graphics cards change when keeping the same chipset (like Gigabyte, Asus etc.). The most expensive graphics card with the same chipset can easily triple the price of the cheapest ones. What are the differences here? Is it worth for example buying an expensive RTX 2060 SUPER / 2070 rather than a normal 2070 SUPER? What do I need to pay attention to on the data sheets? Are cards that ship overclocked worth paying more money for? Or might it even theoretically be better to SLI two cheaper chipsets rather than one expensive one (E.g. 2x GTX 1660Ti rather than 1x RTX 2070 SUPER, because money spent is almost never proportional to the graphics card test score)?
  9. What do you mean by that? The 3700X is a good bit more expensive than the 3600. I'm not sure how that saves me more money on my GPU. On that topic though, what's the optimal percentage of budget spent on the GPU in a gaming PC? Edit: Okay I get it now, I misread that sentence. Thanks a lot!
  10. So, I'm currently still picking parts for my 1400€ gaming PC. I don't know a lot about PC parts, but I do know that currently AMD is killing it with their CPUs. Is there any point to go for a similarly priced intel CPU rather than a Ryzen 5 3600 for gaming?
  11. It's a bit on the more expensive side at 200€ in Germany, is there maybe another a bit cheaper alternative? A friend of mine has got an ASRock Phantom Gaming 4, but I don't how good it is. Greetings, L. F.
  12. Well, as you know, there's boxed versions and tray versions of CPUs, boxed versions coming with a cooler and tray version without a cooler. The website that I'm currently looking at, the tray version costs 194€ and the boxed version costs 195€. That's only 1€ for a CPU cooler (And a shiny sticker, yay!)
  13. I'm currently at it picking parts for my first PC. Is the Wraith Stealth that comes with the Ryzen 5 3600 boxed good enough? With the boxed version often costing only 1€ more, I'd love to save some money here. Ask anything you need to know! Greetings, L. F.
  14. Hey there! I have the 3.1 from a German website called Geizhals, it's usually reliable but sometimes a bit inaccurate. Otherwise, thanks for the detailed information! I don't know that much about PC parts so every bit of information helps. Memory kit is currently Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 16 GB DDR4-3200 and PSU be quiet! System Power 9 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified Power supply (whatever that means). I haven't really put a lot of thought in either, for the memory I just rolled with something affordable that's okay in specs and for the PSU something that exceeds the pcpartpicker estimated wattage by about 50-100W and that's high enough on the price scale so it's likely it's not gonna kill me. I've been told my PSU isn't designed for mid tier PCs, but I don't really understand how that would show if the wattage and cooling is fine. Additionally, I don't mind if it's not modular, I'll take it but I wouldn't pay extra for it. My budget is about 1400€, by the way. Greetings, L. F. Quick edit: I live in Germany.
  15. Right! So I'm currently picking parts for my first ever gaming PC. For me, loading times are one of the most crucial part of the experience, so I decided to go for SSD only. Therefore, I picked a Sabrent Rocket NVMe SSD with its beautiful 3450 MB/s read and 3000MB/s write to go along with my Ryzen 5 3600 and graphics card (that's not quite fixed yet, depending on the cyber monday prices somewhere from RTX 2060 Super to RTX 2070 Super). But here's the issue: I'd like 2TB of storage, the Sabrent Rocket 1TB is available for about 120€, the Sabrent Rocket 2TB for about 300€. So to save money and help dissipate heat better, I've decided to buy 2x Sabrent Rocket 1TB rather than 1x Sabrent Rocket 2TB. Now that's all perfect, but in case Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are not as good as I hope, I need to save some money so I can still afford a good graphics card. Currently, I picked a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X which has 2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots (if my datasheet is indeed correct). I now need an alternative AM4 motherboard that features 2x M.2 PCIe 3.1 (or newer) x4 slots. Does anyone know an affordable and good choice? Is this even a good idea in the first place? Last of all, do M.2 SSDs require cooling or is the airflow of the Fractal Design Meshify C case enough? Ask anything you need to know! Greetings, L. F.
  16. I see! How does the orientation manifest in the PSU? It's obvious with the SSD, but what are the differences between an entry level and more expensive PSUs? Greetings, L. F.
  17. Hey there, Thanks a lot for the reply! I like what you did here, but I have a few questions: What was wrong with the power supply I picked? It's about 20€ cheaper, the HDD you picked is 60€ and the SSD is 120€, all of that put together I'd only be 20€ away from the 2TB SSD I had before. (Or, in theory, only 40€ away from 2 of the Sabrent Rocket 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive you put in and their 3450r/3000w goodness [if I had 2 M.2 slots, of course]!) Secondly, is the B450 motherboard going to work out of the box with the Ryzen 5 3600? I don't have another CPU I can put in there to update the bios or something. Thirdly, will the B450 chipset impair the performance of the CPU? I made up my mind with the case by the way. I'm gonna go for the clear tempered glass because it works best with indirect lighting. A friend of mine coded an awesome programme that controls LEDs by reading the CPU utilisation and changing the colours accordingly anywhere from blue to red, so I plan on putting in some LED strips myself. Greetings, L.F.
  18. Hello there! So I've been working on my first gaming PC build lately and I'm not sure what I could change. I don't know a lot about PC parts, so I've come to ask for ratings and suggestions. Some basic info: 1. Budget & Location I live in Germany and I'm looking to spend somewhere between 1300 to 1400€ (I'm going to order at black friday/cyber monday for maximum performance per euro) 2. Aim The rig should be able to run newer games on high settings, if possible on a WQHD monitor as well as run a browser on another FHD monitor. Besides that it should be able to run basic office apps like Word (which I would guess isn't really too much of a problem). I do want to play some CPU intensive games though, like Arma III or Squad. 3. Monitors As I already mentioned, I'd like to run two monitors and stay at two if possible. They're 60FPS 1080p ones, but I might get one 1080p and one 1440p instead (the 1440p one for games, the 1080p one for browsing) 5. Why are you upgrading? It's kinda obvious, I'm currently running a GTX 950 and an AMD FX-6300 Six Core Processor along with DDR3 RAM. It seems to progressively get slower and slower as the 2TB hard drive fills to a point where I get something about 45FPS on minecraft. I had to unmount the sidepanel so it doesn't crash from lacking thermal performance. Windows is getting a bit sad with some graphics glitching and just booting up the PC and getting logged in with discord autostarting can take from anywhere from 5 up to 15 minutes. At least I've got a Windows license, mouse, keyboard and headset already. Here's my latest pcpartpicker config: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor €203.89 @ Mindfactory Motherboard Gigabyte X570 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard €180.99 @ Amazon Deutschland Memory Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory €73.98 @ Amazon Deutschland Storage Intel 660p Series 2.048 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive €228.33 @ Amazon Deutschland Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC Video Card €432.90 @ Alza Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case €96.89 @ Alternate Power Supply be quiet! Rate my build and give suggestions! Thank you in advance! L. F.
  19. So I'm planning on building a PC in February to early March with a budget of something around 1500€. Is it worth ordering parts on black Friday in order to get the maximum performance per euro or should I wait until February in order to get newer parts (or older ones cheaper)?
  20. Thanks an awful lot, that's perfect!! He's been gaming on a 2009 Laptop for a few years, this will surely blow him away! Have a nice day!
  21. Hello there! A friend of mine is planning to build a PC with a budget of 1000€. I'm on here to represent him because he doesn't speak englisch very well. Anyways, we both have little idea of how to put together a proper rig, so I'm asking for tips on what parts to choose. A few important things: We - obviously - live in Europe, and he's already got a case and a disc to install windows (but no windows license), and assets like a mouse, keyboard and monitor. Assembly itself is also covered, so the 1000€ are exclusively for the parts themselves. The rig should be able to: Play rather processor-heavy (or at least so I think) games, like Arma 3, Post Scriptum etc. on good graphics Be future proof for something like a year It doesn't have to be good at rendering tasks or such. Thanking you in advance for your answers! Greetings from Germany!
  22. Oooooooooo someone answered me! Thanks for your reply, it will come in very handy. And also thank you for looking up the prices on German Amazon. Have a nice day!
  23. Hey Guys, Long story short, a friend of mine is building a gaming PC. (And yes, I'm asking for a friend because he doesn't know how 2 English.) The budget is about 1000 to 1200€, he doesn't need to pay assembly fees (I'm gonna build it) but he does need a Windows license. Sadly we both have no idea of PC parts and I'd like to ask for some tips here. His goals are (obviously) to have a good gaming experience. He doesn't really play triple A's but a lot of realistic shooters like Post Scriptum or Rising Storm 2: Vietnâm. The rig should be able to play mediocrely modern games at 60FPS high settings for at least a year. Thanks in advance! Greetings from Germany.
