Just realised I've installed one of the fans on the rad the wrong way round, I'm now thinking that's why the temps are so high?
-
yeah that's what I thought ? I used CPU-Z's cpu stress test to get 100% load and temps of 100c probably best not to use the OC then
-
Just activated game boost in the bios on my msi motherboard, getting idle temps of around 50c wonder if this normal Or safe I assume the idle temps haven't changed after activation as the clock speed hasn't changed and under 100% load I'm seeing temps of over 90c nearly 100c I'm using a i5 9600k and corsair h75 cooler Thanks in advance

Ah right thanks. 9600k and £100-£200

So is it simple enough to do? Any other motherboards you can recommend?

I need to get a new motherboard, I was looking at the Asus ROG STRIX Z390-H GAMING LGA 1151 DDR4 ATX Motherboard, under the tech specs and the ram section it says it supports 3000mhz (o.c), what does this mean? Can I use 3000mhz ram with it? Because I already have 16gbx2 3000mhz so will it be compatible? Thanks in advanced

Just need need someone to confirm that a z370 motherboard with a 9th gen Intel cup won't even post until the bios is updated, requiring an 8th gen cup. Thanks in advanced

Just built a new pc specs are: Motherboard: Asus z370-p prime Cpu: Intel i5 9600k CPU Cooler: corsair h75 Gpu: asus gtx 1060 dual oc Ram: corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 3000Mhz 16gbx2 Psu: powercool 750w After completing the build and attempting to power on there's no POST, so I've installed an internal speaker for testing purposes and now when trying to switch on there's one beep and no POST. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. I've provided photos on inside the case if that can help in any way. Please excuse the bad cable management - will fix later - main concern is getting it to work.

Thanks for the help

Ah right thanks, it's about £35 more

I'll have a look at some ryzens. looking on amazon there's no real price difference between the 8600k and 9600k 8600k - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-BX80684I58600K-Core-i5-8600K-Processor/dp/B0759FKH8K/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1543706761&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+8600k 9600k - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-9600K-3-7GHz-LGA1151-Black/dp/B07JHZXSQP/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1543706922&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+9600k Would it be worth paying that bit more for the 2600x ?

Just to make things more clear; I'm living in the UK and the total costs of the components I've stated cost £850, This build is primarily for gaming, I have one monitor (Ben Q XL2411) and have no room for anymore) , running Windows 10 and have all the peripherals I need for now and I'm looking to upgrade because I feel i may have some bottle necking occurring
