Appreciate the help! I've never overclocked before but I have a lot of cooling mount options in my case so its a possibility. I have the lian li O-11 dynamic so I have ample room for multiple 360mm rads. Is AMD a better first-timer // easier overclock?

I'm looking to buy a CPU and I'm torn between the 2700x and the 9700k. I want the possibility for some light, occasional streaming and the 2700x with its higher thread count is supposed to be better for that. I want to be able to run linux though using proton for games and intel is supposed to be better for that. Just wondering if anyone else running linux has experience with either or both processors and could shine some light on the topic. Side note: I am a programmer and I have used both AMD and intel for compiling code and such. I haven't found much difference in development for either platform but if anyone knows any different I'd love to hear it. If it helps, games I play: -Dark Souls III -GTA V -Rocket league -PUBG -Middle Earth Series -Witcher Series
