  1. Thank you!, I check their store and say they had a AMD Ryzen7 5700U for a little bit more.
  2. My main PC turns my room into a furnace during the Summer months. I don't play intensive games on it too often, I mostly use bluestacks, and play guild wars 2 sometimes. I was eyeing this mini PC model that comes without RAM, and SSD/NVME, I've seen a few youtube videos and reddit post on this brand. With my aliexpress discounts I think I can get it for around $150. I was looking for something that's around the power of a Steamdeck. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805324946413.html? The thing is, summer is coming to an end, is this a decent deal (counting the risk of buying from aliexpress) or will there probably be much better buys at the start of summer next year?
  3. I'm getting tired of dealing with having a 144hz main monitor, and a 60hz secondary monitor. I don't care for the stand since this is going to be placed on a vesa mount if anyone has any cheaper suggestions. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Refresh-Monitor-Optix-G242P/dp/B09PF9SXPD
  4. Is the G supposed to represent gigabits, M megabits? Google help for translation. 1.3 Gigabytes Am I looking at this right?
  5. I noticed it seemed as if my right click wasn't responding sometimes, so I went and tested it. https://www.onlinemictest.com/mouse-test/ On the site when you click a button, an image of a mouse shows the button turning from light to dark blue and will stay that way until you release the button. When I click and hold my left click, it will stay solid blue until I release it. When I click and hold right click it will occasionally flicker back and forth between light and dark blue while I'm holding it. Here is the current mouse I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E64DTDQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Does anyone of know of a decent mouse under $50 with a similar side button layout?
  6. Hiphop - Electronic - Jazz Jazz less often than the previous two.
  7. Well, not always earbuds , I did used to use the $1 dollar store headphones when I was in middle school. Iv'e been wanting to experience what using a quality par of headphones was like. Is it worth it for someone like me? I've never used a pair of earbuds or headphones over $40. (even then, the ones near that $40 mark was because they were wireless) This is what I've been using the past few years. https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Headphones-RP-HJE120-K-Ergonomic-Comfort-Fit/dp/B003EM8008 Any suggestions for a pair of closed headphones? From Amazon preferably. Max I'm willing to spending is $150, I can pay any additional tax. I just want them for general use at my PC. It would also be nice if it had a detachable cable. I like being able to switch cables on my keyboards, don't know if it would be the same for headphones. Seems like a plus because I wouldn't have to worry about damaged cables.
  8. Thank you. I'm good on the monitors, I have a dual monitor set up at home. I have a spare PC I can wipe and use as a last resort.(really don't want I.T having access to my personal devices) It's just that I would rather shell out $250 bucks before doing that. I can try to find out more about what they're planning tomorrow. A couple items I'm currently looking at https://www.newegg.com/black-dell-latitude-e6220/p/N82E16834863034?Item=N82E16834863034 https://www.newegg.com/dell-latitude-e7250-mainstream/p/N82E16834843135?Item=N82E16834843135
  9. Maybe, it would depend on if I can find a reliable seller. I usually go for refurbished when I'm not buying new. I like the simplicity of just being able to order from a company
  10. I'll have to see what I.T has planned. It probably wouldn't be comfortable to me because a lot our work is done using software that requires me to have several windows open, we have a dual monitor setup at work.
  11. Hi, Because of you know what. Per that Linus video, would it be troublesome if I wait to buy? Right now they've just been asking people if they have internet and a PC at home. It's nothing certain, just a possibility. Lucky me, I gave my laptop away a couple weeks ago. I don't travel much, and when I do, a smartphone takes care of anything I would use a laptop for. If they go through with this, I don't know what type of set up we will be using, I would think we will most likely be using some sort of remote access, we may have to give I.T brief access to any device we use. I don't use any intensive software. The PC I use at work is a low power quad core i5 with 8 GB of RAM running windows 7, some of the older programs I use apparently don't work in 10. (I don't work in I.T, and they didn't tell me, just what I've overheard) If we are using some form of Remote Desktop, will it matter if my device is Windows 10? It's also a possibility they might just give us a work laptop, but I doubt they would be willing to buy everyone a laptop just off a chance. I don't want to spend over $350, and I don't mind buying refurbished.
  12. I feel like the Element Z88 from the $45 round up out performs some of the boards on this list. - Choice between blue, brown, or red switches - Removable switches - On board rgb customization - Aluminum black plate- - Best of all, detachable micro usb cable. (probably not the best, but it separates it from some of the boards on this list) - Cheaper.
  13. I don't really care if I'm getting what's described, they're cheap. This is just out of curiosity. Are these really PBT keycaps? I never handled any high quality keycaps so I wouldn't know. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32902062981.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4d8rMcSI I had bought some a while ago just to change the color of the keys, and to get rid of the gamer font on my Element Z88.
  14. Thank you all, I'm definitely going to crate a task to put my brothers computer to sleep at 1:00 AM or so. Throttling is an idea, actually a while ago I was wondering was there a way to throttle data based on data usage by assigned Mac Addresses, but that would would probably be too advanced for me if it possible.
  15. TLDR- I pay the cable bill in my household, and we are passing the 1TB data limit almost monthly now, meaning I have to pay extra. This likely isn't the sole reason we are going over the limit, but it should cut down on our usage a lot. My family members have a bad habit of leaving youtube on autoplay, and going to sleep, like they would with cable television, and youtube will run all through the night. From my experience if there is some form of media playing on Windows, the PC will not go to sleep, is there a way to make the PC automatically go to sleep even if there is media playing in the background? I've already tried talking to them several times. I was trying to get my mother to watch videos in 480p, but she uses the Xfinity cable box to stream youtube, so I don't know what I'm going to do about that, probably convince her to use her laptop if it keeps happening.
