  1. Can you help me with overclocking? I never did it on a legacy bios haha
  2. Thanks, I did my best to keep it down with the money. Still I think I could have done a better job if I had more time. Because the power supply is new, the cooler and the case. If I bought them second hand this would probably me 50€ more in my pocket ^^
  3. 60€ the seller wanted 135€ but somehow he accepted my price offer haha
  4. Greetings, I wanted to share my recent X58 Build. The main goal was to get the best perfomance as possible for my bucks. **Just to mention it,I live in Germany and Used PC stuff is mostly expensive here** So Lets start. The first contact with the X58 plaform was last year when I purchased a Dell Precision T3500 with a Quadcore Xeon (W3530) This was the time I noticed, Holy S**t this thing flies ! I used it till last month, where I decided its time to move on and Build an X58 system for the Best bang for the buck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a base I used the GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 Revision.1 Now I needed a Processor, I shot this Xeon W3670 on Ebay for 10€ The stock clock speed is 3.20 GHz on Six Cores! I needed a good cooler for this to keep it cool, but I tought the stock cooler will do the job too? NO! The stock one didnt even fit on the board,so I needed to buy a new one. Since I am on a budget i was searching for second hand LGA 1366 coolers but found nothing, So I choosed the Cooler Master MasterAir MA410P Which cost me 50€ Okay ! I had the Mainboard,The Processor and the cooler....now I needed some RAM,Storage Drives,a Graphics Card,Power Supply and a Case....So I asked my friend ebay if he has something for me,and you bet he did ! I went with the ASUS Rog Strixx GTX960 4GB as my Graphics which I got on a ebay auction for 100€ Now I needed some RAM. I wasnt quite sure if this board does support ECC memory (because its cheap),on the forums I found only negative answers. I took the Risk and bought 16gb Registered ECC memory for 20€. I put it on the motherboard, tested it and...It works! Still I dont have the ECC support but I dont need it anyways. To power everything I went with a Cooler Master Masterwatt lite 500W Power Supply,Which I bought New (sadly) for 50€ with the Sotrage I went with an Intel SSD 240GB, and with a Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm Mechanical Drive / The SSD cost me 40€ And the HDD From Seagate, 60€ for 2TB of Space Finally I needed a case, and since I went out of time I bought a new one for 30€ on ebay,It was cheap, really cheap..the quality was...yeah,no that good. I have not ran any benchmarks or similar since I had no time. But I will do it tomorrow and update the thread. I planned to Overclock the Xeon, and since I never overclocked anything I need help,so if anyone knows how its done on this Motherboard let me know in the comments Do you have any recommendations on this build ? maybe to change components and so on ? I would love to hear your toughts on this build!
