  1. Hey there everyone! I just installed Linux Manjaro as my main OS, and last night I plugged in my PS4 controller. Everything worked fine on the controller, but ever since I've had this pulsing squelchy static sound on my mic if the level is turned up above 30%. Any help is much appreciated! I'm running a Lenovo Legion 5 with the KDE Plasma version of Manjaro on the latest version. I have Discord as well if you need to hear the sound.
  2. So I wound up having to rebuild my OS and it looks like it didn't install very well the last time. I also found a few more videos that gave me better insight as to what was going on. Turns out I had the wrong drivers for my system and that's why they weren't installing properly. Course that was what I found after totally breaking Ubuntu so that I got log in loops and no way to fix them without rebuilding....cé là vé.
  3. I copied it from the name in the file, so it should be good. I also tried directing the terminal to the downloads folder specifically by copying the file path, and then running the tar command. It said that the directory existed, and that was it.
  4. This is what I've been getting. I guess I was wrong about getting it to install. I thought I managed to get that working, but I guess I didn't.
  5. Well, I managed to get that to work, and it looks like it's installed already, but I don't have an icon for the app, almost as if it didn't install at all. I'll give that a try again just to make sure.
  6. So I'm fairly new to Linux, and I've just reinstalled Ubuntu 20.04.1 with a KDE Plasma desktop/front end as my only OS on my desktop again, but as I was streaming yesterday I noticed that my GPU fans were set to their stock fan curves which are super loud and like a jet turbine. I'd love to know where I can find the AMD graphical interface for their RX580 cards like AMD has built into their drivers on Windows, or how to install such a software. I've been looking around for a couple days now and haven't been able to find anything aside from the AMD provided Linux drivers which I can't figure out how to extract because it's a .tar.xz file. Thanks a bunch guys, you're all awesome! System specs if they help: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF RAM: Patriot Viper 16GB 3400MHz GPU: Gigabyte AMD RX580 8GB MotherBoard: Gigabyte B450 Pro WiFi OS is running on a 512GB NVME M.2 SSD.
  7. Here there fellow techs! I'm setting up a blue ray playing media server and I was wondering, what's the difference between PowerDvD 20 Ultra and PowerDvD 365? Anything helps, thanks!
  8. Ah...Thank you for your help! I'll have to play around with my bit rates to see what I can do about that.
  9. So the PS4 is indeed compressing the video files?
  10. So recently I've gotten back into YouTube video making and I have very slow internet. I edited a video on my PS4 with Share Factory and a 15 minute video came out to less than 1GB after I was done rendering! What I'd really like to know is if there is a way to mimic these file sizes on my PC. I know that my PS4's video was in MP4 format, recorded at 720p, and it used 30fps. But beyond that I have no clue how my PS4 was able to get such a small file out of a 15 minute video! Does anyone know how Sony did it so I can replicate these results on my computer? Thanks friends!
  11. I'm looking for a program to clone a USB boot drive with windows 1903 on it to another USB drive and have the new drive boot the Windows installer. Does anyone have any suggestions on programs for me to use? Any info helps! Thanks in advance!
  12. Ah, thank you all! I'll have her give some of your suggestions a try!
  13. So my Mother is looking for a writing program that's free and would allow her to write on documents that she can type out. basically a wordpad or word that she can draw on. My mom has a 2 in 1 computer with a drawing pen that she wants to use with this program for her tutoring lectures, any thoughts?
  14. Thanks for the info, I thought it might be something like that but I'm still interested in seeing the numbers.
  15. I was looking into an AMD RX580 and comparing it to my GTX1050 and other GTX cards and while I was looking at them I wondered if AMD GPUs ran better on AMD hardware,(mostly because I run an AMD machine) So I did a bit of research and found a page involving the Ry-zen 7 CPU but it was more about how the CPU was effected and not how the cards are effected. Has anyone ever done this kind of teswting and where can I find the results? I thought this would be a good topic to put on here and see what other people had to say on the topic.
