  1. thanks a lot for replying, actually server hardware is kinda costly in India. Ebay India is no longer functional and am bit skeptical about importing parts and getting them stucked in customs as the customs dept kida useless here. Even I was looking for 1U rack mountable chassie but it was around 80$ (10-11K INR) by silverstone. Am not sure if chassies are that must costly or they are heavly pricesd because of import duties. I saw xeon x3440 for 10$ on aliexpress, is it safe to buy from there? and board for 10$ on ebay, but unfortunately its not shipable here.....

  3. Hello Everyone, Am Atharva from India looking to build a home server. My budget is ~300$ (ik its less but cant exceed above that) Right now I have 2 systems conected to a public IP on which I run multiple stuff 1) Main PC Processor: I5 8400 RAM: 16GB SSD: 125 GB HDD: No (using SMB from my server for storage) Motherboard: Asus B360M-A on above system I run cirital sites or projects which are very imp to my using hyper-V on Windows 10 Pro 2) Old PC (turned into server builted in 2007, running 24*7 as a server since December 2018) Processor: Intel Dual Core Due 2 E8500 3.16Ghz Board: Zebronics G31 chipset RAM : 4GB DDR2 (As my board and G31 supports 4GB at max, i think) SSD: 125 GB Boot drive for Ubuntu Server HDD: 2.5" Laptop HDD 1TB TP-Link Gig NIC (as on board is 100 mbps) on above build I run multiple containers as I design NodeJs Microservices Stuff for projct. RN I am able to run almost 13-15 containers at a time without issues on the server but as its too old I'm unsure about its remaining lile and stability hence if something is very imp to host then I simply create a VM of 8 GB RAM on hyper-V and run on mail PC. This peaks my processor (I5-8400) to ~4GHz with 100% utilization as I use that PC for work simultaniously. What I want: system that is well is budget (at least board, RAM, processor) can run multiple VMs and containers wont be out of date soon (I cant afford Xeon as I am looking for consumer hardware) Will be cherry on top if it can run VMware ESXI out of box I guess I need to have more thread count to make it possible ... It will be great if someone can help me out ....................
