  1. I have noticed in several games that when the game is loading assets, my frametime spikes (causing drops in fps). This is with an i7 9700K, RTX3080, 32gb ram, only M.2 SSD's, 750watt PSU... I tried everything from reinstalling windows, to cleaning/installing drivers, to even disabling certain SSD's and running the game/OS from one single drive. Nothing seems to help. I get these spikes for example in Hitman 2 where I get 120fps stable at 3440x1440 except from when the game is loading something during a level (for a fraction of a second it stutters, sometimes even holds for about 1 sec!!). Same for No Man's Sky, pretty decent fps but frequent spikes in frametime when loading assets (especially noticeable when warping to other systems).
  2. Btw, currently in doubt between the Edifier Luna 25HD and the Presonus Eris 4.5 BT

    Speaker advice

Currently using Creativeworks T20 speakers which are several years old. Pretty good, but daughter would like to use these for her bedroom so I'm looking for a decent upgrade. Budget around 250 euro max. Size doesn't really matter, sound does. Mix of gaming and music/youtube. No subwoofer/surround stuff, just a 2.0 setup. The Edifier Luna looks pretty nice, but they seem pretty old so not sure if there's better stuff out there. Advice?
  4. Sorry, I mean a NZXT X63 All in one. Which has a 280mm radiator. In my case for example, no way to mount this on top due to no ram clearance.
  5. Currently own a Define R6 case with a NZXT X63 mounted in front with 2x140mm intake, and one 140mm outtake. Nothing else. GPU (Asus RTX3080) gets pretty hot during load (75°C and throttles), so it's clear there's not enough cool air coming our, nor hot air getting out. So I'm thinking about swapping to a different case which allows me to mount the 280mm on top (I have Corsair Vengeance RGB ram, so clearance might be an issue) so I can then mount 2 or 3 fans in front for intake and let the cpu/radiator do the outtake. Which case would fit this, with my ram? So X63 radiator on top as exhaust, front 2 or 3 (rgb) fans and 1 rear outtake. I want to keep my system as cool and as silent as possible. Currently using Noctua NF-P14s fans but they don't seem to generate a lot of cool air through the radiator.
  6. For whom it may concern, installed a new X63. 1 outtake fan 140mm, 2 intake fans behind the radiator (NZXT), fan speed at around 40%... Idle temp +- 32°C-35°C, liquid temp 28°C, this is with door closed but case open. So kinda affirms my AIO was failing.
  7. Anyone got some more ideas? Re-arranged some stuff, re-applied tim, tried with open case/open front etc... Idle temps now around 40°C-45°C, running BF:V for about 30mins puts cpu near 80°C, liquid temps are around 40°C.
  8. Never had an issue with my pc, just installed 2x8gb extra ram and since then (although it stays the same when i remove the extra ram), my pc won't sleep. When I turn it to '"sleep mode", usb devices turn off but the fans keep spinning, and my ram and RTX2080 rgb lights keep on. A hard reset seems the only way to "wake" the system. Any idea?
  9. Just installed a 2nd set of 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance Pro memory, and now my X62 cpu cooler won't fit anynmore, the ram pushes against the tubes when mounting the cpu cooler. I have not installed it upright, so the tubes coming out on top of the cpu cooler and logo 45° rotated. Looks like shit, but also wonder if this is harmful. Got two options: get a new cooler, or send the ram back to Amazon. Mainboard=MSI Z390 ACE.
  10. So a little update. Been doing a lot of testing/rebuilding/re-arranging. But results are about the same : 40°C idle (fluctuating quite heavily from 37°C-45°C or more). Stressed in games around 65°C, IntelBurn goes as high as almost 90°C. Tried swapping the radiator up/down, putting the intake fans in front of the rar or behind the rad, reapplied thermal paste...Nothing seems to help. Idle hovers around 40°C (liquid temps show around 31°C - room temp +- 24°C). So... normal temps for my build? Or AIO slowly giving up? Only thing I have not tried is putting on my Dark Rock Pro 3 I have laying around here, but I don't think that would make a big difference (and not sure it will fit anyway with my ram). Any help? Suggestions?
  11. I hear zero noise from the rad or pump, so I suppose there is no air trapped even though I have it upside down
  12. No, tubes are on top (always have been btw). Just as a comparison, my RTX2080 (MSI) temps idle are 34°C.
  13. Already did (about a month ago, Arctic Silver 4). Liquid temp (idle) is reported 33°C.
  14. Noticed quite high temps lately, especially under load, so decided to do a bit of testing with IntelliburnTest. X60 with front mounted radiator, with a pull config with 2x140mm 1 outtake rear, 2 outtakes top (140mm) Room temp <> 24°C Idle temps : +- 40°C Load temps : average around 65°C, intelliburn puts them at 97°C max (!) NZXT cam is running in performance mode. Shows 2000rpm for the pump, so I guess it's running. But I have a feeling it's really not cooling my cpu efficiently (anymore). Anything I can check?
  15. Well, just tried some stuff. Since my X60 is a 2x140mm radiator, I cannot mount it at the top, only front mounting is possible. So got it there, with 2x140mm intake behind the radiator. Then I have one 140mm as exhaust in the back. Now, since this doesn't provide a lot of cool air inside the case, I can put two Noctua's at the top (2x140mm) as intakes. Do you think this is possible? Or is having 2x140mm fans on the top as intake just useless?
  16. i7 9700K Kraken X60 2x Noctua 140mm intake (behind rad) 1x Noctua outtake RTX2080 MSI Gaming X Trio No oc'ing Environmental temp : 25°C Idle : 40°C (fans at 50%) Stressed : 70°C - 80°C When playing games, the GPU gets pretty loud supposedly because hot air isn't getting out well enough. Is better with open case. So is this 'normal' for the X60, or is it losing efficiency?
  17. Current setup : * 9700K * Kraken X60 front mounted in a Fractal R6 (2x140mm intake behind rad) - Noctua's * 1 outtake at back (140mm) Temps idle @50% fan speed : 40°C / stressed +- 75°C - 80°C I still find the 2x140mm Noctua's a 'bit' load, really would love to get my pc as quiet as possible without sacrificing temps. My RTX2080 is running hot enough as it is, and with the case closed, the current setup is clearly not getting the air out fast enough or not getting cool air in. So considering this, which would you recommend : * put the radiator on top with 2x140mm outtake, and put 2x140mm intakes in the front Or * replace the X60 (which might not be performing as well) with a good air cooler, and put 2x140mm intakes in the front, then air cooler, then outtake Which would be best.?
  18. Just installed 3x NF-P14s PWM fans, light grey. Two as a replacement for the NZXT radiator fans (intake, before rad) and one in the bottom of the case, connected to the same 'hub' which drives the radiator fans so the bottom fan will turn faster as CPU heat increases. The chromax were too expensive for the moment.
  19. Been swapping fans and positions for several hours, but I really don't seem to get much difference in results. Currently stopped with the radiator front mounted with 2 intake fans, and 1 outtake fan at the rear. CPU temps are VERY good (+- 40°C idle, +- 60°C stressed). This is a 9700K non-overclocked. But my GPU still kinda bothers me. Idle temps are around 42°C (fans off), but once I launch a game temp immediately jumps to 60°-65°C and under load hovers somewhere between 73°C-78°C, speed drops to about 1920mhz and fans run at 60% (which is already a bit loud). I've seen Youtube movies with similar setup where GPU temps stay around 60°C under load. Also tried a bottom intake fan, speeding up the case fans and even run with open case, but gpu temps tend to jump quite easily to over 70°C. Is this a normal temp for a MSI Gaming X Trio? Or should I try to apply better thermal paste on the card? Won't do this if temp seems 'normal'. Like I said before, my main issue is not the casefans (which are pretty ok noise-wise) but the gpu making too much noise for my liking. My pc is setup on a corner-office in our living room, so loud fan noise bothers the family members when I'm playing games. Also looking at Noctua fans, which (black) 140mm should I choose?
  20. Did some more experimenting, moving fans around and swapping them for other brands I had laying around. One thing I notice, is the rear exhaust fan (whichever one I use) is pretty audible mostly due to the grill behind it, the way it pushed air through causes it to sound pretty loud compared to the other fans in the system (same brand/speed). When I disable the rear fan, the noise characteristic of the pc is a lot more subdued and even. But I of course need the exhaust to expell hot air from the case (unless I'd go with an open case which is not what I want to do). So currently took out a lot of stuff. Put in the stock NZXT X60 fans in front of the rad, pulling air into the case and the 'stock' Define R6 140mm in the back for exhaust. Curiously, the stock fan for the case does not make the annoying sound in the rear pushing air through the vent as the Bequiet and NZXT fans do. So I'm "rgb-less" when it comes to fans now. Not that I really need it, kinda looks cool sometimes. I think I might just get some decent 140mm fans, could be RGB or not. One would be used for outtake, and two to replace the stock X60 fans that came with the rad. Which one would you recommend? The Corsair QL140's any good? (expensive but yolo...). And yeah I know a decent air-cooled setup might be quieter than the AIO setups but I have a windowed case and of course looks matter quite a bit too.
  21. Would that case be an improvement for airflow and would I be better off getting different fans (have a feeling the AER fans are a bit noisy too).
  22. I kinda dislike the top of the R6 unless using the closed top. So maybe my case just isn't "fit" for me. Already tried a bottom intake, didn't make much difference. Might be that the AER fans aren't quite the best for airflow too. Always looking for a "silent" pc, but it's not working out now. Meshify C?
  23. Any recommendations? This is how my current setup looks. RGB fans > NZXT AER 140mm (1 rear, 2 behind rad) normal fans > NZXT 140mm (in front of rad), which came with the X60 (angle of the pic makes the gpu sag look worse than it is btw)
  24. I have my Define R6 with the X60 rad in front (4 140mm fans, 2 in front, 2 behind rad, so push/pull) and one 140mm outtake. My GPU (MSI RTX2080 Gaming X Trio) goes up to about 83°C and the gpu fans ramping up to 60%/65% which is kinda loud. When I leave my case open, temps of the gpu drop about 10°C keeping the card quite a bit more silent. So is the Define R6 not a 'good' case for aircooled gpu? Recommendations?
