  1. the motherboard, My computer is very outdated however, and I will most definitely just build a new computer. But when i was scrolling through my steam library I noticed that I had roughly 10,000 hours of gameplay across all my games. So i was curious as to how many hours an average computer lives for. Much like how a Car usually lasts for 100,000 Miles. How many hours does a computer last.
  2. Ok, So I am basically trying to build the best gaming computer I can for Around $3,000 USD. What do you guys think of my current spec sheet. Feel free to suggest me changes and reasons why, as I have not ordered it yet and am subject to change. GPU - RTX 2080ti Gigabyte OC edition CPU - Core i9 9900k MOBO - Gigabyte Z390 Designare LGA 1151 (300 Series) RAM - 32 GB of Trident Z RGB 3200mhz Storage - 2 Samsung 970 Evo M.2 Drives - 500 GB each Cooling - Cooler Master, MasterLiquid Ml360R AIO PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 850PQ - 80+ Platinum 850w I will use my current case - NZXT something (forgot the name) **Might use my Rx480 Strix as a secondary GPU aswell - So I can do that cool FreeSync on an Nvidia card trick thing** (I have 3 freesync monitors and don't plan on upgrading right now) Basically this build totals $3,100 after tax and shipping on New Egg. PLEASE suggest me changes (the AIO and PSU are my main iffy areas) - I am just going off of the best that I know of through videos and such, maybe there is some better parts for gaming? *NOT interested in Ryzen* *I know this build is quite overkill, but I have the money and want the best gaming machine that I can build right now so I don't have to worry about upgrades for a while* Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello, I am wondering If i should get an AORUS GTX 1080 external GPU for my Razer Blade Stealth (late 2016), or if I should upgrade my current computer, as the upgrades for my computer and the egpu would cost about the same. My current specs: CPU: AMD Fx8320 clocked at 3.5ghz (stock clock) GPU: AMD RX 480 Strix (8GB ROG Version) RAM: 8GB of ddr3 Ripjaws from Gskill Motherboard: Asus M5a97 LE R.20 CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo Power Supply: *Unknown Brand* (its not some janky PSU, I just cant remember the brand and its in my cases basement so the only way to find out would be to take it all apart) 550 Watt 80+ Gold Certified. I am currently looking into getting these components: CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x Motherboard: MSI B450-A Pro RAM: Corsair vengeance (16GB - 8GB x 2) Power Supply: Corsair HX 750w 80+ Platinum Certified. and some other things like an AIO, thermal grizzly kryonaut, etc. Totaling about $743 (USA) after TAX on New Egg at the time of posting. The Razer Blades Specs: CPU: Core I7-7500U at 2.7GHz (Stock clock) RAM: 16 GB of 1867Mhz DDR4 GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620 The Main Question: Would the 1080 External GPU see better performance on my stealth than if i were to upgrade my current computer with the above components? Secondary Question: Is an EGPU something you can daily drive? Like is there any input lag or delay when playing? I am a very competitive gamer, so if there is even the slightest amount of input lag or delay it will be a complete turn off for me. I like a buttery smooth experience and i'd rather have higher FPS than better looking graphics. Thank you!
  4. Another question, I have a razer blade stealth. Would i see more performance if i were to buy an external graphics card like one from AORUS, they sell a 1080 external unit for $650. Or would it still be wiser to upgrade my current computer.
  5. Hello, I am planning on upgrading my computer, I don't really have a budget, but obviously I don't want to break the bank. Right now my computer does decent in games, I have to crank my graphics all the way to low just to get any decent FPS. I am a very competitive person, so I'd rather have 144 FPS and have my game look like minecraft than have 30 and look like something better or whatever (you get my point). So I was wondering what should I upgrade, I am not really familiar with the concept of bottle necking, my CPU doesn't reach 100% use (usually like 70% if that in games like GTA 5) but i still get really low FPS even though my GPU is still at like 20%. Should I take that $750 and get a new GPU instead? Or would this CPU configuration be good, maybe too overkill? Tell me what you would switch and why or if this setup is good and why, Thank you in advance! Also, if someone could explain to me how to diagnose a bottle neck, that would be great! I cant really find a good tutorial or anything, everyone says different things.
