The one that comes with the phone is safe. The aftermarket ones you'll need to watch out for. I bought one (forgot brand name) for my s8+ for a little under $10 USD and it worked great for 4 -5 months then one night my phone started beeping and on the screen was a warning to disconnet charger immediately. I disconnected the cable found it smoking out the port for a good 10-15 seconds.
