  1. I think you'd get more performance from upgrading rather than crossfire
  2. The only difference between a reference card and a non-reference one is that the non-reference one is usually overclocked and has superior cooling right? So if I buy a reference 290x which I think are some of the cheapest and install a water block, I can then overclock it to where it'll probably surpass non-reference cards right?
  3. So far it seems like Vapor X is winning lol I was honestly considering it because I think it's such an attractive card but I don't know if it's worth the extra cost, and I don't know if or how the vapor chamber affects water cooling
  4. Hey guys I'm in the market for a 290X and would love your opinions on which is the best. At the moment I'm leaning towards the Sapphire Tri-X one but nothing is set in stone at the moment. I would love for it to match my new PC's color scheme of white and black with a dash of blue but I'm sure I can find a nice white water block for it so that shouldn't matter too much.
  5. Congratulations guys, you've definitely earned this! You were the first channel I found when I was interested in PC gaming and I've learned so much from your videos. Keep doing what you're doing, and I wish you guys the best
  6. Will two 290's be good for 4K?
  7. So I'm gonna be buying a new graphics card this week if I'm able and I'm going for an R9 290/R9 290X. My question is, do you think the 290X is worth the extra $100+ for it? I found a Sapphire R9 290x Toxic on Amazon for roughly $547, but the exact same card only it's a 290 (and it's not Toxic lol) for about $427. Is it worth it? To the best of my knowledge the difference is at most like 10% in computing power and that's it. They both have that amazing tri-x cooling unit, 4GB of RAM and a 512 bit bus. The 290X is clocked in a bit faster but I'm sure I can OC both of them to about the same level and the 290x has 256 more stream processors
  8. Yep I have the latest AMD drivers installed directly from their site.
  9. Yeah I was afraid it might be I guess I'll have to return it and get another one.
  10. Hey guys, I just recently bought an R9 280X Toxic from Amazon and I'm having some issues with it. When I first got it a few days ago I installed it real quick and everything work, I didn't play any games on it because I had an essay due for school but I did do some web browsing on it. The next day I was playing some games when all of a sudden my PC turned off and refused to turn on. I would attempt to turn it on but it would only flicker on real quick and then turn off. When I installed my old graphics card the HD 6770 it worked perfectly. I bought a new power supply because I figured my old one couldn't handle it so I bought a Corsair HX850i Platinum which should be plenty of power for this card. After setting everything up I turned the PC on and it all turned on seems to be working, except the 280x isn't sending a signal to my TV. I've switched it out with my 6770 and it all works perfectly again. I'm using an HDMI for connection but I also have a VGA with a DVI adapter so I can check the DVI ports and those don't work either. I've tested this card on both my TV and an old monitor I had laying around and signal isn't being sent to any of them. My motherboard does have on board graphics but it's a male VGA so I don't have the adapters for it. I have no idea what to do and would love any help so I can figure out if I need to return it before it's too late.
