  1. And the difference in MHz and timings won't be of any issue?
  2. Hi all, I have a Z77 board with 2x4Gb G.Skill sticks at 1600MHZ in slots 1&3. A buddy gave me two sticks of Corsair XMS3 triple channel ram. They are 1333MHz 4gb sticks. Will there be any compatibility issues? I'm hoping that the triple channel memory will run in dual channel and the speed rating won't be an issue. Hope someone can clear this up for me. Thanks!
  3. Okay, I got it figured out. I guess I have to have my second monitor unplugged to watch a streaming movie Kinda lame but oh well. Thanks for showing me that I could check the HDCP status with the Nvidia control panel @Glenwing
  4. One says it is compatible the other says it isnt. They both say Ancor Communication so i'm not sure which is which.
  5. I have an Asus MX27AQ monitor and I was attempting to stream a movie I own through VUDU movies (ultraviolet digital copy) and I keep receiving an error about HDCP not being supported on either the output or display. I know this monitor supports HDCP and I am using a DisplayPort cable which should support HDCP 2.2 and my video card is an NVIDIA GTX 970. Is there something i'm missing? This is the first time trying this with my new monitor and video card. Last time I tried this was with my Asus VE248H and an NVIDIA GTX 660Ti. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  6. Can anyone please simplify the benefits and downsides of each type? I am looking at a few monitors and one is a VA panel, then next is IPS and the last is PLS. I'm familiar with IPS but not the other two. Any info is greatly appreciated!
  7. LOOKING FOR INPUT In a couple months I will be purchasing a new monitor. I am currently using an ASUS 24" 60Hz TN monitor from 2009 (VE248H). I am looking at 4 different monitors, they are all 27", 1440p and 60Hz except for one which is 32". The biggest difference I can find is the physical aspects and the panel types. Two of the panels are IPS, one is a VA panel and the last one is a PLS panel. I don't play competitive FPS games, so I don't feel the need for anything more than 60Hz. The monitors i'm looking at are ASUS PB278Q, PB328Q, MX27AQ and a BenQ GW2765HT. I am leaning towards either the PB278Q or the MX27AQ. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb278q https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb328q https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-mx27aq https://pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-gw2765ht BTW, my budget is around $500, but I would spend a bit more for the PB328Q if it come highly recommended over the other monitors. Thanks for any input.
  8. I will definitely be checking out the rankings come April 2016 haha.
  9. Coincidence that Vessel.com took off around the end of March 2015 and the announcement for the new platform launch was on March 23rd 2015? Check it out http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/vessel.com

  11. While gaming today my system shutdown unexpectedly. This is the 5th time this year. I checked the Event Viewer and I get a critical event type with Event ID 41 Kernel-Power. Microsoft's support page states that this is likely due to a faulty, dying or insufficient power supply. My current PSU is a Corsair TX-650. I didn't think my system would require more than 500W of power, so maybe it's dying on me. I'm not sure if I should buy a new one rated for 750+ watts with an 80+ gold certification or what. This problem doesn't occur often enough and I can't make it happen on my own to diagnose the problem and I don't have a spare PSU with a high enough wattage to check this. Any suggestions?
  12. I have used both front panel and motherboard USB ports. I have tried unplugging and re-plugging while in game and with the game closed at the desktop. I will try unplugging my mouse while in game to see if it takes over. ***UPDATE*** Well I tried the suggestions, still not working. I contacted Microsoft Support, they were pretty much useless. The guy tried to tell me my controller was broken, even though it works in some games, just not all. I submitted a support request to Steam, though I hear that takes like 4-7 days to get a reply.... Games my controller works for: Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel, Castle Crashers and Resident Evil 5. Games my controller doesn't work for: Bioshock Infinite, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, FORCED, Left 4 Dead 2, Metro: Last Light, Resident Evil 4, South Park: The Stick of Truth and Tomb Raider 2013.
  13. I started up some call of duty black ops 2, pick up my wired xbox 360 controller and It isn't responding in any way. Normally the second I hit a button, the mouse cursor disappears and everything is fine. I tried opening and running Tomb Raider 2013, Resident Evil 4 and South Park the Stick of Truth; every game will not recognize the controller, except for Resident Evil 4. RE4 only let me use select and start to skip the intro scenes, once I'm at the main menu I cannot select anything or move around the menu. Here is what I tried to fix the issue myself: Unplug and re-plug in the controller Restart computer Check/update driver for controller Use the Microsoft test utility for the controller (worked fine in utility, not in games though) Shut down PC, walk away, make lunch, come back 30 minutes later. Checked the in game controller settings, disabled/enabled it. I'm at a loss as what the issue could be Please help!
