  1. Thank you for the suggestions I have not confirmed the budget just yet Idealy I'm hopping for around £1000 but it could go as low as £700 I normally go new as well but I'm thinking I'll buy a second hand GPU to start and teach him what he needs to know to upgrade it himself at some point the rest will all be new though I have not done an AMD build for a long time so I am keen to try a Ryzen processor. I would like to leave some room in the budget to give him some steam credit too I geuse. Thank you very much again your advice was very helpful especially as I have not worked with AMD for a wile.
  2. Just want to start saying love Linus media group and everything they do. I wanted to ask for good recommendations for a well priced gaming PC build. It will be for my nephew to build with my support who I barely get too see as he lives in Australia and I live in UK last time I saw him I promised I'll teach h how to build a PC (he is 8). I'm used to building high end PC's for myself and close friends but as the trip to Australia will already be high I'm looking to do a build with mayby a well priced second hand 1080 with a decent processor that will run above 3Ghz idealy. He or his parents have no idea I'm doing this and I want to do something special for him as despite all medical advice as a family they could never have children and countless IVF treatments faild he is about to have a new sister from natural means. So understandably there will be a lot of focus on that and I would like to give him something special for all his hard work. Thanks guys Any ideas I would really appreciate like toolless casses for example that are good so he can do the build from scratch. Thanks for any advice As a side note I'm currently working on a non profit family website for supporting children with education needs (especially for home schooling children) please check it out at www.whyplay.co we are still learning but want it too be as helpful as possible
  3. Would love too see a full review of The Asus Mothership very interested to find out what the two power supplies are for now I thought a perfect example for two PSUs would be one to have as a permanent on in say PC mode on a desk and the other to charge the battery this will keep the battery in better health. But I don't think that's the reason either way would love to have a full review it's the kind of system I would buy fits my needs exactly
  4. Ok so far so good guys maybe there was a problem with the original drivers may need them to be removed as so far it’s working beautifully this card is amazing when it’s running I’ll post again if I have any other problems p.s make Shure to download latest drivers and after reboot when DDU is conpleate do not connect to the internet until it’s installed to avails any unwanted driver install
  5. I am about to attempt a DDU in safe mode and install drivers without being connected to the net and I’ll let you know if I get any improvement
  6. Also just to add I was still having crashing problems with my old psu Whitchurch was a 700w
  7. Just to let you know I’ve been having the same problem I ordered an upgrade on my PSU as I wanted too anyway now running a 1000w psu. seems to be random times it crashes but certain games crash more quicker than others the worse affender is currently Xcom2 war of the chossesn. i am running 8th Gen intel i7 on a AOrus z370 gaming 7 motherboard heat is not an issue but it does run hotter than my previous 1080 founders but since upgrading to the RTX 2080 ti founders been running into crashes a lot. I know it’s new and all that believe me I’m used to trying out the latest equipment and having teething problems but this seems very excessive as like you I have tried underclocking running games at lower settings and nothing seems to change it please let me know what mother board you have
