  1. How is Macbook air 2017 for iOS Development? (Core i5 5th Gen 8 GB/128 GB SSD MQD32HN/A A1466). Should I save money and buy this or go for MacBook pro base model 2017? Because I'm getting MacBook air at 754.30 United States Dollar while MacBook pro base model at 1,644.38 United States Dollar. I just want to do ios programming and will be using simulators.
  2. If i enable rapid mode will in increase the writes. How rapid mode works and is it useful?
  3. I want to know how long will my SSD last. As SMART tells that worst value is already achieved. I have also activated over provisioning. Also, suggest me how can I improve the health of SSD.
  4. Go for eset.I'm using it for years now. It is lightweight and won't create issues when you are doing programming as shown by avast.I'm not saying this is the best. But for me, it works like charm. More things I use for security - 1) opendns 2) blocksi chrome extension 3) uBlock origin. For security related videos and topics go here - 1) https://malwaretips.com/ 2) https://www.youtube.com/user/ThePCSecurity 3) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZuDh1eYI-MoGsBJRl7_QPQ? (My youtube channel where I have compared antivirus products but not recommended as the videos are old but you can visit it won't take long.)
  5. the laptop is thin, so thermal issue, faster hardware degrade.
  6. Yes that is the advantage with the old system apple used to make. But now they are all soldered.
  7. if ssd breaks how apple will fix it as it is already soldered.
  8. I was thinking to buy new MacBook pro 13 inch 2018 model for ios development and video editing. I have found out that now SSD and rams are soldered to the motherboard so I would not be able to change the SSD if something goes wrong. So for how long will SSD last. If SSD dies than what would I do with the mac?
