No, nothing is broken. I wanted a motherboard with more m.2 slots, but I don't need one right away. A new motherboard is a 'nice to have' and not a 'need to have', so I'm willing to wait until my hardware completely stops working or a huge sale goes on or something.

Thanks everyone. I was wanting to avoid any reinstalling so it looks like I'm stuck with my mobo until I do a major upgrade.

Noob question: Can I switch out motherboards without any setup If all my other hardware including the boot drive remains the same?
