  1. Yeah well laptops are indeed a bit overpriced in India. In that case, you may look at the Amazon Global Store with the converted price and I'll check the availability myself. My expectations with it are that I should get some good performance on the Adobe Suite with a better battery than those gaming laptops. My use of Premiere Pro ain't that heavy. It's light, like once in a while. But I absolutely require no compromises while running Photoshop, Illustrator and XD.
  2. Hi. I am looking for recommendations for a new laptop. I am a Grade 12 student who also pursues graphic design as a hobby and also edits videos for my channel. Recently my old laptop died due to water damage. It was an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-51 that I bought in 2018. The specs were: - i5-8300H (2.3GHz upto 4 GHz with TurboBoost) - 1 TB HDD + 128 GB SSD - nVidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti - 16 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM My usage of the laptop was as follows: - Heavy use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD. - Regular use of Adobe Premiere Pro and Wondershare Filmora - Browsing the web with Chrome with 10+ tabs open on a daily basis - Casually playing FIFA 19 at 30fps at High settings and 1080p resolution Despite being a decent and reliable laptop, I never liked the battery situation. The laptop was not at all reliable when not plugged in. It gave 3 hours of juice on my regular usage. For someone entering University this year like me, it was not good. Plus the gaming aesthetic never appealed to me. That's when I realised I would rather prefer thin and light over thick and bulky. So I am looking for a new laptop. I have a budget of ₹100,000 (≈US$1350) Here's my needs: - The priority is a decent battery life in a thin and light / ultrabook form factor - A 10th gen Intel Processor and atleast 8 GB of RAM (I have an extra HyperX 2666MHz 8GB DDR4 RAM stick so I'd PREFER an expansion slot as well) If an expansion slot is not present, I'd want a minimum of 16GB RAM. - Graphics and performance capabilities enough to run Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD simultaneously with Chrome tabs. Also I need to manage 4k 60 fps content on Premiere Pro so I'd want the experience to be good. - It'd be a BONUS if I am able to play upcoming FIFA titles at atleast Medium/High Settings and 30 fps. Not much of a necessity. - An all SSD storage, since I already have a 512 GB external SSD and I don't need that much of space in the form of an HDD in the laptop. An inbuilt 256/512GB SSD would be enough. - SD Card reader and USB C needed. ALSO ALSO, please let me know on the thermal performance of your recommendations. I'd be willing to extend my budget upto ₹110,000 (US$1500) if the deal is really worth the price. I'll be buying the laptop via either Flipkart India (www.flipkart.com).or Amazon India (www.amazon.in). Thank you in advance.
  3. The Asus one is overpriced in India. It's way out of budget. The Dell Inspiron seems a pretty good deal. It was on my top list already. Should I go for it?
  4. You can consider these: 1. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Good software, powerful hardware, a good optimised set of optics, really awesome battery (5000mAh) 2. Realme 2 Pro : A good option if bad software ain't a concern (software is awful), specs are quite decent, is aesthetically good tho 3. Nokia 6.1 Plus: Decent, balanced phone, ergonomic, stock Android 4. Samsung Galaxy On8: Only if you desperately want a brand like Samsung, specs are okay tho. I won't recommend you that. The MiA2 is a pretty good phone. It's a solid option. Opt between the A2, Zenfone and Nokia 6.1+ according to your needs. Check for the availability and pricing. I am suggesting according to Indian availability and prices. Hope that helps.
  5. A max of 2 kilograms. A full HD 15.6in IPS display would be perfect for my needs.
  6. Flipkart: www.flipkart.com Amazon: www.amazon.in Weight be optimum to light. Should not be super bulky like those gaming laptops. Battery life should be good, something like 5-7 hours maybe? The more, the merrier. Just a few I/O essentials would be perfect (shouldn't be erratically less like the MacBooks or something for the sake of slimming it out) These are the things I do on my laptop: 1. Use everyday applications (Office, Browsers, Utility Apps etc) 2. I use PyCharm, Sublime Text and Android Studio, occasionally 3. The use of Photoshop is quite high. Not a pro, but yeah I use it regularly. 4. I play FIFA, but very occasionally. So graphics performance not a big deal, but should be good enough to deliver good framerates at medium settings or something.
  7. Sure it doesn't, but I am not quite willing (or rather not allowed by my elder brother hahaha) to shell out extra bucks for something like an external SSD. ?
  8. Well, the absence of an SSD on (c) bugs me quite a bit. But (a) was what I was leaning towards.
  9. Hey there. I am quite confused between a few laptops, over which one to buy. Can you help me decide between these, or suggest any alternative. My budget is INR70000 ($950) and I have the following expectations: 1. A solid Adobe Suite running laptop (some medium Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro usage) 2. Fluid data transfer 3. Some decent portability (that's why I didn't opt for the Acer Predator Helios 300) Alternatives: (a) Dell Inspiron 15 7572 (The variant with the i5-8250U, 128GB SSD+1TBHDD, MX150 (4GB GDDR5), 8GB DDR4 RAM) (b) Asus Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/256 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/2 GB Graphics) S510UN-BQ256T Laptop (c) Asus VivoBook S15 Core i7 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/2 GB Graphics) S510UN-BQ052T Laptop (d) Asus TUF Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/128 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) FX504GE-E4366T Gaming Laptop Other alternatives are most welcome, given the budget accepts it.
