I am pretty satisfied with the Taipan, even though it's not fitted for the right hand. I didn't really know what to go for in the HDD category so I just took one on the list. About that xmp, I have heard it before, sounds really familiar but I don't recall what it is? Thanks for the help, I appreciate it

Hi. I've built a PC on Pcpartpicker, and here's how it looks as of right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Q2oN. Is there any changes that would be beneficial? As you can probably see, I went with a red/black colour scheme. I have chosen the 750D because I like the clean, simple aesthetics of it. Also, my maximum budget is around 1500$. As for peripherals I currently have the Razer Taipan, the Logitech K200, and an Asus VE228DE. I'm going for quietness and looks a lot. P.S. Do you guys know how to install the OS from a USB drive? An optical drive ruins the great looks in my opinion, and installing OS is the only time I'll need one, so eh?

Same graphics card, different speeds.
Sum_R4ndom_Dude replied to Sum_R4ndom_Dude's topic in Graphics Cards
We have now checked the power saving mode, and we can tell it's disabled. It was running in high performance, just as mine. I have no clue, what so ever, of what is going on with this. They (Asus) might have turned down the clock speed of the card, just to make it have the bearing: "Ice Cool". But it's all just guesses. I hope one of you have a solution. Also, i just quoted you so you'd get a notification -

Might be just that. We'll run another one tomorrow, or if he's got the time, today. If it is just power saving mode, I think I'll kill him. -

Nope. Mine may even be thinner. -
Hi. Me and my friend was today comparing our laptops a bit, and we found that they have very similar specs. They have the very same Geforce 740m, but when we tested it in the Heaven benchmark, i got twice the FPS he got. We found that that his GPU was set to 405MHz while i had mine at 810MHz, both being stock. We wanted to know how to solve this issue. Do any of you have some suggestions?

New quiet fans for my system (CPU, case)
Sum_R4ndom_Dude replied to Sum_R4ndom_Dude's topic in Cooling
Thanks, that was really useful information! I think this CPU cooler will fit: https://www.komplett.dk/noctua-nh-c12p-se14-cpu-kler/581326#!tab:extra (NH-C12P SE14). As for the case fan, i think i'll go with an NF-S12A https://www.komplett.dk/noctua-nf-s12a-pwm-120mm-blser/779026#!tab:extra -

Sum_R4ndom_Dude replied to Sum_R4ndom_Dude's topic in Cooling
Well, because i won't be looking inside my computer all the time, i might go with Noctua. Though it would be nice if they also looked good... Are those other fans as good as Nuctua's? -

Still, i do not know if a NH-D14 is overkill, as i have an Intel i5 3570k non-overclocked. I may mildly overclock in the future though, but not crazy, just as a max of 3.8 - 4GHz i think. -
Hi. I have a PC from last year that I'm making some upgrades on. The system is a bit loud for my taste, so I thought I'd put some new fans In. Here's a video of my rig: http://youtu.be/vl56aMn-qs0 I found out some time ago that my PC actually has negative pressure (taking the GPU into consideration) so intake it will be. The case fans i currently have installed are practically silent. And the CPU fan is too loud, the loudest fan in the system, with the second place being the GPU. It's the Cooler Master iDream 117i i think. I may swap it out with either a NH-D14 (if It'll fit in a Cooler Master 350 case) or a NH-C12P SE14 (I like the fact that i can also cool the surrounding area a bit). If any help, the specs of my rig is in my signature.

Building friend a PC, loads of options.
Sum_R4ndom_Dude replied to Sum_R4ndom_Dude's topic in New Builds and Planning
I have talked to him about what he will use it for and the Price. The maximum is around 1300$ for a standalone computer. He will be be playing Minecraft, maybe with shaders. He's around 99% sure that he will want to play games like Far Cry, COD ans such. Two options left, number 2 and 3 -

Yeah, one thing that i do not know though, is how much do shaders take? I haven't installed any on mine, so i don't have anything to compare with. I will be back on this thread tomorrow, it's 23:00 here -
Hi. My friend is wanting a PC since his laptop run games laggy. So i thought i'd assist him. Even though i'm pretty good with PC's, there's LOADS of options. I still haven't gotten a clear answer from him, though he is going to play some games like minecraft. What he do not know yet, is if he'll be playing games like Call Of Duty, Battlefield, or maybe Far Cry. I have some options here that looks more promising than others. The Intel NUC. It'll be loaded with the most powerful CPU, 8GB of RAM and an SSD. This one is fine if he's going to be playing Minecraft only? Or what? The second option is for a PC build by ourselves with a more powerful processor, 8GB RAM, maybe an SSD, but no graphics card. So if he's going to get into first person shooters and such, he can put in a graphics card The third option is to get one from a company in my country called Topdata. This is if he gets into FPS games and such, right from the beginning. I'll have a link for the site here: http://topdata.dk/. Click the "Compure m. m." button and you'll see options, some of which have hardware included, and some which do not. Now, for a guy like him, what do he need to get? I have a feeling that he's going to need a pretty powerful processor to run Minecraft, perhaps with some shaders on. What do you guys think? What should he get?
