  1. You are quoting me. I CAN NOT BUY USED LAPTOPS THERE IS NOT A GOOD MARKET FOR THEM WHERE I LIVE AND I CAN NOT GET THEM ABROAD! Lenovo or Asus tell me which one is better or do not say anything is the question that hard to understand.
  2. Hey everyone, I have brought the competition down to 2 laptops. The laptop I will buy I will use for some light work with microsoft office, AutoCAD 2016 (nothing too demanding), little movie watching, web browsing and e-mail. Thanks a lot guys. Here are the candidates. http://setec.mk/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=x540nv-&product_id=46511 https://www.amc.com.mk/LENOVO-IdeaPad-330-15IGM-156HDPentium-Silver-N5000-4GB-DDR4-1TB-Wi-Fi-HDMI-Card-reader-BT-81D100CNRM Here is a link where I compare the processors as that is the main difference between these 2. (Aside from the fact that the Lenovo has no GPU.) Only other thing is one has 4GB DDR4 (Lenovo) while the Asus has 4GB DDR3. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-N4200-vs-Intel-Pentium-Silver-N5000/m196248vsm499477 So I would like to ask YOU people who know more about laptops which do I pick. Note: It has to be 1 of these 2. I can not buy used. I can not buy from a different country, meaning e-bay, amazon and sites like that are off limits. Please do not tell me better deals or save more money. Take a look at both of them and pick the best.
  3. Haven’t thought about that. I may just ask around
  4. Thanks man. It’s not that I do not want advice it is just that the advice I get is either to have more money or live in another country ? things that are out of my control. When I make my own pay cheque and when I buy my own gaming rig I post here again. (That could be in 5/6 years though ?)
  5. I need an at home thing and no amount of discount is going to help my broke ass buy a better laptop. Because if it did I wouldn't buy a laptop I would custom build my own PC.
  6. The x1 is good but as I said in another reply, I would pay an arm and a leg at customs. as for the x240 it doesn't ship to where I live (Macedonia (FYROM)).
  7. Uuuuh well beyond the fact that I live in Macedonia (FYROM) and there is a very bad used market in my country ordering electronics from e-bay is gonna burn me a lot of money in shipping. So I think going new is the only option. Edit: Maybe the shipping will be free but I still have to pay an arm and a leg at customs.
  8. I had an internship at a computer repair shop, I have seen them open and work on laptops, it is a nightmare. Unfortunately, this is THE best choice for my budget, the only notebooks with preinstalled SSDs are the small Mediacom FlexBook 13 with an even more abysmal N3350 Dual Core Celeron and it only has 32GB of space on it.
  9. Well the N5000 isn't the 4405U as seen here, http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-4405U-vs-Intel-Pentium-Silver-N5000/m54474vsm499477 . Maybe the difference is minimal but the only other CPU within my price range is the N3350 Celeron and the i3-6006U, both of which get stomped by the N5000. Used is not an option unfortunately.
  10. I was just joking about the R6S thing. This is the base model and there is no updated version but maybe I can upgrade it with an extra of 4GB of RAM and an SSD as the higher end model of the same laptop comes with them pre-installed (plus a 1080p screen), but I will see how it will run first and if I can I may upgrade the internals. What do you say?
  11. Hey guys this is my second post about this topic but this time I have found a laptop myself and would like to have your opinions. The laptop I have in mind falls in my budget for a price of $300 USD. Here are the specs: ASUS X540MA-DM197T Processor: Intel Pentium Silver N5000 @1.1 GHz RAM: 4GB DDR4 @2400 MHz (2x2 probably) HDD: 500GB Screen: 15.6" (1366x768) Graphics: (Integrated) Intel UHD Graphics 605 No SSD. Here is the link: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-Laptop-X540MA/specifications/ So I need this laptop mostly for college purposes as in Word, PowerPoint, e-mail and the rare movie nights. Oh and I would love to know if I could run Rainbow Six Siege on this XD . Thanks a lot everyone, Alex, (Lucifierce). EDIT: Just so you guys know, this laptop costs as much as my mom's MONTHLY pay cheque and she is buying me this laptop. So yeah saving money not an option.
  12. I live in Macedonia (more commomnly known as FYROM) and we are not to big on shipping electronics plus shipping fees to my country are quite large. That’s why we are locked down to local retail most of the time. The used marked for all things tech is completely horrible here.
  13. Guys we don't have chromebooks in my country plus they are way out of budget. you doubled my 250 USD to 500 money I do not have.
  14. Not much option on that front either. Where I live people will just try to sell you old overpriced tech or tech that is already pretty broken. But thanks for pointing out a specific product
  15. Hey guys, I'm looking for a laptop for some school work, word, powerpoint, e-mail and stuff like that. The problem is I really don't have a big choice where I live. My budget is somewhere from the 250 USD to the 300 USD mark. The laptops in this range have either the Celeron N3350 (dual-core) or the Pentium N4200 (quad-core) both at a base clock of 1.1 GHz. The RAM is mostly 4GB DDR3 with hard drives from 500 GB to 1 TB sizes. I would love to have your opinion on the matter. https://www.amc.com.mk/laptops this web page is of a retailer in my country so you can personally see that I do not have a lot of options. https://www.anhoch.com/category/3003/notebooks this is another retailer. If you guys could have a look at these two pages and single out a laptop for me you would have my appreciation :). If not your advice is greatly cherished as well. Edit: If you see any laptop up to 400 USD that is worth a lot more bang for the buck than any of the 250-300 USD tell me about them as well :). But the cheaper ones are more important.
