  1. Reinstalled Windows 10 (v10.0.19041) for the sake of major de-bloat 3 days ago. It has crashed twice now. The "crash" consists of the screen(s) going black, does not respond to input of any kind. Computer is still outputting some sort of signal to monitors. Keystrokes and mouse movement do nothing. Cause is unknown, hasn't happened enough to notice pattern. Most recent event occurred shortly after pausing a YouTube video. Hardware assumed not to be at fault due to the fact this didn't occur before the re-install. I'll attach the list of installed software, installed hardware (albeit hopefully irrelevant), and a zipped archive containing evtx exports for system, application, and security logs. Troubleshooting thus far consists of simply looking at event viewer which I found no useful information within. Any advice on steps to take, places to look, or potential causes from the info I've provided would be greatly appreciated. EventViewer.zip
  2. Found an "issue" with my monitor. Really it's hard to call it an issue because the situations in which it presents itself are minimal at best. Anyways, I realized there's a small gap between the panel and backlight. Depending on what's on the monitor and how I'm looking at it, I can see edge pixels go into this "deadzone" where they're not in front of the backlight but rather in front of the side pieces that make up the gap itself. Here's an image and a video to show what I'm talking about, the image shows it much better than the video but both are decent examples. The context for the image, the left side of the scroll bar is nicely lit up by the backlight behind it while the right side is in front of this "dead zone" I mentioned. In person with all two of your eyes, you can see the depth of this gap when you move your viewing angles. It's harder to capture on video since you can't capture depth. Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpNTUZsOglQ (The scroll bar in the video is barely visible so ignore that part) TL;DR Gap between display panel and backlight, want to know if this is how these monitors are built or if it's a defect with mine in particular.
  3. I'm surprised you're as clueless as you are, the unixporn subreddit is pretty popular / known. It's literally just about showing the customization you've made to linux. All the colors in that screenshot are custom picked by me, those bars are custom made by me, the configuration of the tiling is made by me, the color / transparency / blur is custom configured by me. Just about showin off your own lil style
  4. Specs are in the lower right terminal Not much else to show though, just different workspaces with chrome and steam opened up. Looks identical though, just with a browser open instead of a few terminals.
  5. What more is there to add? How does one show off a custom desktop with anything more or less than a screenshot?
  6. Just creating a lil unix porn thread, place to throw your pimped out desktops (or at least mine if no one else joins in )
  7. Someone helped me out, Ubuntu repos don't have the latest Vulkan drivers so I had to add another repo and grab em' off there.
  8. So I'm using Lutris (or trying to) to play Overwatch on Ubuntu 18.0.4. Initially it was fine, everything installed and I got overwatch running without any hiccups. Issue rears its head after I close down OW and Lutris. I tried to run Overwatch again and the entire process is just crashing after attempting to login to the Blizzard battle.net client. Submitted a support thread on their official forums but haven't got any replies. Here's a copy of my most recent debug logs. https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/nHfFWqvHGT/ Only three issue points I see are: [1004/042408.635:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(157)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 8 [1004/042408.641:ERROR:gpu_process_transport_factory.cc(1044)] Lost UI shared context. [1004/042410.069:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(14)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 396 Dunno what any of those mean or how to fix em so help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Haven't used windows in awhile but I think you can just right click it and create a shortcut? Put that on your desktop and that's your solution.
  10. Should get your eyes and nerves checked out big dog, there's somethin wrong with ya
  11. I'd go with Ubuntu, spend some time learning how to use something like bspwm and you could get that laptop zippy.
  12. iKBC MF108 keyboard with brown switches and a HC Granite keycap set from PMK (Dvorak layout )
  13. On windows there's a directory for every user on the system, all containing their own Desktop folder, Downloads folder, Documents folder, etc. That directory is what that is, if you want another folder like that you add another user to the device.
  14. They're mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. They BUILD their keyboards. They diss shitty razer and logitech keyboards like we diss prebuilt alienware and HP computers.
