  1. Absolutely absurd argument, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose. Good luck.
  2. Look I get the "warranty ran out, they honored the warranty" argument but if you honestly think that having 3 of the same monitors and 2 of them dying inside the warranty and the 3rd dying just outside the window is acceptable and I should just be out of luck then I don't know what to tell you. 1 is unlucky, 2 is a coincidence, 3 is a pattern. It's obvious (from my perspective) that there is a fundamental issue with this line of monitor given that I alone have had 3 fail. By your logic then, car manufacturers shouldn't issue recalls on defects as a result of poor design or manufacturing errors. Then by your own argument you are ok with them saying oh sorry you had a 5 year warranty on your car but this problem that we created (design or poor manufacturing) is now your fault and it's going to cost you $X.xx dollars to fix because it didn't break or wasn't know about until 5 years and 1 month after you purchased it? That's absurd. Just because it ONLY has a 2 year warranty, doesn't mean it should ONLY last for 2 years.
  3. First and foremost, love your content! I've been watching all of your videos for atleast 8 years now, probably longer. TL;DR, MSI hoped and prayed that their defective line of monitors would outlast their 2 year warranty. I've had 3 of the same monitor now from MSI and they are all dead within 2 years 3 months of purchasing. MSI Support basically told me im SOL and noone from MSI has bothered to respond on their official reddit at all. Full Details Here: I'd love any help I could get getting MSI to honor their warranty on this defective monitor. Thanks in advance!
  4. After a bit of googling that's what I found and it seems to work great. So far loving it. In my quest to find it I also found groupy which allows you to group windows together in tabs like seperate tabs in your browser but you can group whatever applications together you want. Combining the two has been amazing so far. Highly suggest!
  5. @Linus What windows management software were you using? I've been looking for something good to carve up screen real estate on my ultrawide. Thanks!
  6. Hoping someone can help me. What should I expect from this for folding? Is this even good? Should I spin up more of these? I have 3 more servers identical to this powered off not doing anything at the moment.
  7. Hello, Put in my folding username before getting my passkey not realizing they were going to issue me a user name and passkey. Sorry im a newb to folding. My folding name is Robert_Lincoln but I believe I signed up with my forum name as my folding name. Thanks!
  8. Hey everybody! I have a bit of hardware I inherited from my work that i've setup and tasked to folding as well as my gaming rigs. They don't seem to be doing anything though. As best I can tell 0% cpu on the servers and 0% cpu/gpu on the gaming rigs. When I look at the logs I see this repeatedly but for different IPs: 14:31:04:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '65.254.110.245:8080': No WUs available for this configuration 14:31:04:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 18.218.241.186:80 To me this sounds like it's trying to connect to get WU's and either can't connect (I'd expect a different message for that but you never know sometimes) or there truly is no WU's available. Given the massive influx of compute power into the F@H community does this seem right? Does it seem like it's setup and there is just nothing for me to do? Thanks!
  9. So that's a good point but I did try paired x5560's as well and i've seen ebay posts of this mb rev running x5650's as well. I also made sure I was flashed to the latest bios and that a single 5650 worked in socket 1 (it's actually running in that config right now with 96 GB's of ram). As for the point about the fan's that's a really good point I will need to look again for a fan header but these are server chassis usually they don't have cpu fan's and the one cpu hat does work doesn't have a cpu fan on it either. Just super powerful 80 MM fans in pairs (4 Wide x 2 deep) to pull air in from the front and force it over the cpu heatsink and out the back for cooling.
  10. I've recently inherited a boatload of servers from my employer when we replaced a bunch of individual servers in favor of blades in a couple of our offices. I am trying to use one of these as my unraid server and wanted to beef it up a bit. I took out 2 pair'd x5650's from a 1u dell and threw them into this 3u HP P4500 G2 server. Populating the 2nd CPU slot causes the thing not to post anymore. It will power on, the fans ramp up to the full jet fan screaming speed and then it shuts off. I can see online on ebay etc plenty of other examples of this server having dual cpu's but it just isn't working for me in this one. I've disconnected/reseated everything I can think of at this point and looked around in the ILO Management for clues and nothing really stands out to me. I tried running a known good CPU in socket 2 while socket 1 was empty and the same behavior occurs. At this point i've come to the conclusion that either the socket is disabled via software/bios/jumper or that the socket is just bad somehow/somewhere and I am SOL. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!!!
  11. All very strong points of which I considered myself. I always think to myself oh but what if I need blah blah blah in the future and so buy a full atx case and never end up using it. I've poked around all over the internet looking for cases and I think I am going with the Define afterall. Thanks for the input everyone!
  12. Thanks Densetsu! I REALLY like this case do you know if they make a full atx version of it? Call me Old School but I really prefer full atx towers. This looks awesome! Thanks for the welcome! I've literally been watching Linus for years and read these forums and never signed up! I know shame on me but here I am now! That case though is definitely interesting.....im not feeling it though. Thanks!
  13. Hey all! I am building a new PC and decided this time around to not reuse my case. It's old and a little dated with no USB 3 ports on it even /scoff lol #firstWorldProblems. Anyways I want to see what you guys recommend or can come up with. I looking at around up to $200 maybe 250 for a case but might go higher for something truly exceptional. I really like black/red or darker charcoal/gunmetal colors, sleek contemporary lines/looks and I think i'd really like a tempered glass side as well. Let the games begin!!! (queue maniacal laughter) Thanks LTT Community!
  14. To answer your question, yes definitely always something up on the second monitor. Not having a second monitor is out of the question. The debate is between 1 Ultrawide with 1 27' or 2 27' monitors. Im leaning towards the ultrwaide + 27' options myself.
